Porsche Logo PCGB - Modern Event 17th May

The - Porsche Club of Great Britian -Are Holding a 'Modern Porsche'
(996, 997, Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne Only) Event at the Heritage Motor Museum - Gaydon Warwickshire - On Sunday the 17th May

Grouped Parking By Marque and the Opportunity to Drive a Cayenne on the Land Rover Test Track Facility.

Modern Model - Gaydon HMC

http://www.porscheclubgb.org/uploads...n%20layout.jpg

You Don't Have to be a Member to Come Along - Tickets On The Day = £9 Adult £7 Children (Same As Advance Members Bookings - But Do Not Include the Off Road Experience)

(It is a Membership Drive Though - The Monthly Magazine is Worth the Subscription)

I'm Planning to Shock the Porsche GB 'Establishment' with the 'Yellow Peril'

As Gaydon is Sort of - Centre of the Country - May be Good for a General Meet to Promote the CaymanClub?

Also an Opportunity to Visit the Motor Museum -

Heritage Motor Centre

Seems Like a Good Day Out.......

Re: PCGB - Modern Event 17th May

We shall be attending with our Cayman Demo car and a display on the M96 and M97 engine upgrades we offer.

Should be a pretty good event so long as the weather holds.

Hope to see you all there

Won't be back in time for this one but I am sure that we will make it out to an event later in the summer.

Re: PCGB - Modern Event 17th May

Well, I Attended the Event and was 'Granted' a Place in the Official Enclosure in amongst the other Caymans there.

Good to meet other Cayman Owners and introduce them to the CaymanClub.

Met up with NU987 and enjoyed looking at all the other types of Porsches there.

The Motor Heritage Museum was also a Walk Through Memory Lane - Cars from My Family's History - Quite Nostalgic - Even My Wife Claire, Quite Enjoyed the Visit!

The 'Yellow Peril' Shocked the Establishment -

"What is a Cayman GT?" (The Porsche They Refuse to Make....Was My Reply.) Isn't it a Mis-Representation? (Why - Porsche Don't Make one.....?) - [Not Like putting 'S' After Carrera to make it look like something it is not!]

Couple this with the fact that the display ring was a Grass Field and The 'Yellow Peril's' - 3" Ground Clearance was Further Reduced by 2" Grass, which made it look Quite 'Mean' .

My Wife was Bemused by the; 'Sad Anoraks' (Her Nomenclature) Who, after Every one of (the many) Rain Showers, Jumped out of their cars with Towels, and Dried their Cars and Polished/Detailed them..............

Around 14:00 the Rain Set in Extremely Heavily, and In order to keep 'Her Ladyship' - Happy, Had to Leave............

Got to the Car and - What's This............. A Rosette..?

A 'New Format' for the 'Concours' was being Tried Out Apparently - An Anonymous Concours - with Assessors, Judging the Cars Externally Only.......... I didn't know I was even Entered....

Anyway - I Won Top prize in the 'Cayman GT' Class...? (For those of You Familiar with Little Britain - a Bit Like Being "The ONLY Gay, - in Gaydon Village".)

What Were the Assessors Thinking of - Had they had a Collective Brainstorm?

You Know that the 'Yellow Peril' is Washed and Polished Sparingly (Don't want to wear the Paint Out, do I......)

Albeit - I was Not Alone in Leaving Early - Several Porsches drove down the M40 and we drove in Convoy obeying the Speed limit (ish) 'Not Tanking It' - Only to be 'Buzzed' by Every 'Boy Racer' in their Corsa, Clio, Mini, Saxo Etc......

Not Certain I would go to one of these events again - unless it were at somewhere interesting like the Motor Museum........

Except I Have been Given a 'Special Invitation' to become a Member of the 'Display Register' for "Interesting and Rare" Porsches...... So May be Requested to Attend.....

Oh Dear..... I Really Don't Want to Wear My Paint Out..............

Re: PCGB - Modern Event 17th May

Thats brilliant Karel!!

You deserved the prize! your car is stunning!!!

I'm sure had there been any other Cayman GT's in the village, You'd still have won

It was nice to meet you and have a look at the motor, you certainly planted a few seeds in my head about some mods.

Your wife did have a point though, it was amusing to watch everyone drying off their cars after every shower, we decided to go into the museum for lunch and a look around instead LOL.

I'll post some pics in a bit, got some good ones of the Yellow Peril!!

That's brilliant!!

Perhaps you should bring it down to Poole Quay friday evening 22nd May. Should be about 100 Porsches there and one Cayman.

You could try these hotels, not in any order.

Hi John,

That's great! I have already warned Karel not to park under the trees there because of the sticky sap they shed.
