Newbie alert
Hi all
Been lurking for a while now, had my 06 Cayman S for 6 months now.
I've done some searches but wondered what peoples opinions were on these subjects;
- bluetooth - whats the best way to get a decent integrated bluetooth system into the Cayman? (Mine has Bose and PCM) - it looks like it is between the Dension and Tooki solutions - can anyone comment on which is better? I would like Ipod integration as well
- I have been offered a decent price remap by the company that did my E92 330d with superb results - is it worth remapping these cars? I dont intend to do any other engine/exhaust mods (at the moment lol). I would hope that it would reduce the 3k jerkiness that I have? They also reckon on a 15bhp increase.
- I usually stick my front numberplates to the car rather than screw them on - but it keeps falling off!! Never had this problem with any other car, but I think the finish on the number plate attachment is not smooth enough to stick to? Anyone else had teh same issue?
- anyone changed their exhaust tailpipe? I think the CS one is ugly as sin.
Any info/opinions would be great

Welcome to the site, let me see if I can help.
1) Bluetooth - I would recommend the Dension Gateway 500 coupled with the BTA 1500. I have both and they work well and of course you get ipod integration with it too. I do not have Bose so i don't know if that makes a difference or not.
2) ECU tuning - We have several reputable tuners that are sponsors here with proven products, I would suggest reviewing them before making a decision. I don't know what your local shop is using or planning to use. I wouldn't let anyone touch my ECU without knowing what it was and where it was from.
3) We a sponsor sweetgfx that makes stick on plates, they may be able to help you with your problem.
4) There are other exhaust tips available or as an alternative you can have yours polished or plated by BootheDesign - Boothe Designs, Porsche parts and accessories, No-Turn Technology for a reasonable price.
Again, welcome and hope that helps!

Re: Newbie alert
Hi and welcome,
I don't have any personal experience with the bluetooth and the flash but I would recommend reading some of the threads for those topics, there are plenty, more than you can read in one day lol.
On the other hand, I did change my exhaust tip. Here's the link to the thread.
http://www.planetporsche.net/cayman-...ips-987-a.html
Is very easy to replace and if you are interested there is a Porsche TechEquipment Sport Exhaust Tip model for sale in the classified section at a very good price.

Re: Newbie alert
Good thanks, nice to be back in a Cayman
You happy with yours?
Thanks for all the advice guys - I think I'm going to get one of those NHP tailpipes and leave the remap - and go for a plenum/flash/exhaust combo next year.

That may be a bad idea. Police in the UK take very seriously the enforcement of licence-plate type, surface, font, colour and application. You must have exactly the correct type of plate and font, or else it's a fixed fine. Their readers can't read them otherwise. Sadly this also applies to sticker licence-plates.

Re: Newbie alert
its only a fixed fine of £30 though so if your willing to pay it then just get it the way you want. you could be extremly unlucky and get a week out of it but I had a 3/4 sized plate on the front of my last car for a year and a half before i sold it and had no issues with the police. I passed both traffic and panda cars alot.

Re: Newbie alert
Its a grey area ref stick on's but most people who sell them show cuation by calling them show plates, i have one on the mx5 and havent had any issues with coppers or MOT but its old enough to sneak into the right age to genuinely have stick ons, personally I would go ahead and use em and take the small risk.
