Carrera GT Seats

I am formally a BMW man; however I have just taken ownership of a Black Cayman S. The mid engine layout makes this car superb (as you all will know!) and I can't wait to start modifying it!

First thing for me was to change the seats, this was for 2 reasons a) I now have something that holds me better and b) they look superb!

I spoke with Oakley Design to see what solutions they have. They had 2 varients of seat which are not currently on their web site. One is a very light carbon item which weighs 3.5kgs! These are FIA approved, awesome but as you would expect not cheap! The other is a Carrera GT style seat which they sent me over some images.

I went over to their factory to have them fitted on my approval. Well the finish of the alcantara & carbon is superb. They are not extremely light but lighter than the seat I they took out! They also had a 3.8 conversion they do there in a 'GT3' style - looked very cool.

Hopefully the images they sent over will come out ok. Look forward to more work on the Cayman!

They look good. How much do they weight? I guess they are not light since they seam to recline. How much do they sell them for?

Re: Carrera GT Seats

Those seats look superb. I definitly would have gone with those, had they been around 2 months ago.

And this thread is not Unsolicited Advertising, as Oakley Design distributes through Farnbacher Loles - who have site sponsorship here.

This thread is in Unsolicited Advertising because the person who authored it was falsely representing the seats and Oakley Design. These are NOT Oakley Design seats, Oakley Design doesn't carry them. I talked to Jon Oakley personally about it yesterday. Jon is going to be announcing something within the next couple of days. Additionally, F-L only distributes Oakley Design products in the U.S., that doesn't entitle Oakley Design to advertise here since this website reaches a worldwide audience, it would allow F-L to advertise Oakley Design items. I just want to clear up that bit of confusion for you. However, in this instance these aren't Oakley Design seats and the original post was a false representation, which you can imagine Jon was none to happy about. I am closing this topic now so that there is no more confusion on the subject.
