Some more Forza 2 pics

Ok so I got my hands on the Hankook Cayman CSR and took it to the Ring, in stock form ran around a 10min lap I think.

Then I climbed into my highly modified (I stopped at class S 987 - thought it was appropriate) Cayman S and ran the ring in 9:10, not bad for a first attempt with the car...

Then I decided at 190mph to keep it floored into a corner and bounce off the wall, losing both bumpers in the process... ouch!

Ouch! What is your time for a full ring run with your modded Cayman?

9:10 with my modded Cayman S (Class S level 987) on my very first run, I could easily shave time off of that though.

Stupid question here as I don't have a game console yet. The only game I'm really interested in is Forza 2. Do you have to have a steering wheel, gas and brake pedals to play? Seems like a lot of clutter and cables to mess with

I use either/both. The wheel is wireless, so only cable is between pedals and wheel cluster, not bad at all.

I use a Playseats Classic:

Amazon.com: Playseats Classic Gaming Seat (Black Alcantara): Video Games

but there is a more recent model, the Playseats Evolution, that may be more stable as I have to brace the front with some pipe sections to keep the pedal area from wobbling:

Amazon.com: Playseats Evolution Gaming Seat (Black with Silver): Electronics

I use a Logitech DriveFX wheel which is NOT a laptop or rest on the legs type (can only be mounted to a surface) and fits the seat perfectly:

Amazon.com: Xbox 360 Logitech DriveFX Axial Feedback Wheel: Video Games

The wheel you can pick up in BestBuy or a CompUsa, the seat is available online from Amazon or Target. The setup is great! I highly recommend it.

I have had Forza 2 for a few days (in Australia) and love it. I bought my XBox 1 year ago for this game so its been a long wait.

I have the wireless wheel and love it. To make the experience all the more unique I use my Cayman Sports seat with the wheel. ;-) (I have put a GT3 seat in my car, so have my spare drivers seat in the spare room at home).

However most of the time I am trying to sneak a few quick laps here and there without fuss and use the wireless controller. it works well too.

My Cayman is modified to a similar level to Ken's. Its a handful with all that Power!

Looking forward to adding some graphics to my Cayman soon. I am doing an official rally event in my real Cayman soon and am considering adding graphics to my car. So Forza will be a great way to design the graphics and visualise on the car!

Another silly question...is this on a game console or PC based? And if on both, can you race against folks on a different platform?

It's only for the xbox 360, so there is no cross-platform racing.

Just ran a 7:43 (really a 7:38 cuz I had a 5 second penalty for going off course) at Nurburgring during a multi-player race. I was also racing conservative since I had a pretty big lead at the end and didn't want to blow it.

The Cayman is an S Class (level 996). I could definatley improve that time.

That's a great ring time, sounds like I need to practice some more to shave off a minute or so.. I forgot what my penalty time was, I did have a little off course excursion at one point but honestly I don't see why I should be penalized for cutting something over a rumble strip a little "extra" to scrub some additional speed.

I may be "cheating" with my Cayman though. My S-Class Cayman has been converterd to AWD. I did that because my Cayman couldn't compete in online mulitplayer play without it. You should test it out. Even though it's not being true to the Cayman....It is rediculous off the line....

I've worked up my Cayman to the max at also with AWD (U999) and finally hit the ring and after several tuning sessions, I managed a 7:32 with no penalty. To get it back into the S class I have to remove a little over a hundred HP and put all the weight back on. I tried a little online multiplayer as an S class 998 on the Suzuka course. The other players were laughing at my Cayman in the lobby before the start and cracking jokes. Then the race started... I ended up over a full minute ahead the nearest car and lapped one car twice. I could hear exclamations of "Fu..", "Sh..", and "OMG" over the engine sounds. It was great. On another race I tried, my first actually also in S class, earlier than the one above, at New York I jumped out in first but kept bouncing of the walls because I hadn't tuned the car for that track. Some guy in a Diablo GT managed to drag race me and finished first but we were about 20 seconds ahead the rest of the pack. If I hadn't kept smacking the walls... Oh well, I tried to join that guy's next race at Maple but he kept kicking me. Haha, he fears the virtual Cayman!

Nice races! Were you representing the Cayman CSR painjob? Yeah, the AWD Cayman is a top car in S-Class when it's tuned properly, and it's fairly uncommon. Which is why I love it. I rarely lose an S-Class race.

Nope, sorry to say I was running my paint scheme based on the Cayman Club logo. I haven't built up the nearly stock Cayman that you painted CSR scheme on. I have a surprise gift Cayman for K-Man S to keep if he ever accepts my friend invite... consider it a donation to the Cayman Club

I'll just say this about the gift car. I used to watch Speed Racer religiously as a kid too.
