So tell me something, what does the name 'aboogabooga' mean? It sounds Hawian, or is it just a unique name that you came up with on your own?

Im in my youth. Second, Im thinking about getting a copyright for my name because I originally came up with it for my Gamertag in 2001 or something like that. Now if you Google AboogaBooga there are hundreds of other impersonations. Man im serious about this copyright thing arnt I? What AboogaBooga is, is what a person might blurt out if they were trying too hard to scare someone coming around a corner in pitch black...iono I just made it up while I was staring at the TV screen signing up for an Xbox Live account and seeing how unoriginal the "random generated" screen names were.

Oh, I see. It started as a gaming handle. My son (10 years old now) plays some of those games so I sort of know what you mean. He plays one called Counter Strike Source. It looks cool. Do you know it?

My son really enjoys the game. But he's 10, too young to play that kind of game unsupervised. In fact, some parents might question my judgement in letting him play at all. But I found that he's got a good enough head on his sholders to see that it is a game. I've used it to teach him gun safety, strategic thinking and problem solving.
What's rigged about it? I've watched him play a lot, and actually joined him once or twice to supervise. I don't see it being rigged. Sure, I get my butt handed to me but that's because I'm just a Dad, and old dude if you will, not a gamer. He actually does very well, considering his age. I've seen him hand it to some much older player that have tons of experience, so I don't believe it's rigged.
He found a server full of twenty something guys that keep it clean. No swearing, name calling, racial slurs, etc. And those guys are serious gamers. So I kep sending him to that server, because many of them are not so friendly.

I have been playing CounterStrike for years (at least 5). I don't have time to put many hours into it but it is a nice way to let off some steam after a long day and the kids are in bed.
Great game, takes skill and practice to be good at it and requires strategy. Have to find servers that actually use teamwork and it gets really fun.
CounterStrike is by far the best FPS. Every once in awhile I will pick up a new game if it is 'hyped' and will play it for an hour and go back to CounterStrike.
On a side note, the driving game GTR2 is just awesome if you buy a wheel and pedals for you computer. Very realistic modeling and a good way to practice driving on a track.

The original Counterstrike (often called CS, which will be confusing on this forum) is the best FPS of all time.
That being said, Bioshock is outstandingly entertaining on a capable PC.

I usually only play first person shooters on the computer. The keyboard and mouse is a much more productive interface for fps.

I dunno, you might try STRANGLEHOLD on the Xbox360 and see what you think of its unique controls and environment. There's nothing like Tequila time... BTW for those who like to try before they buy, you can download a free 1 level demo of Stranglehold from Xbox Live.

I just downloaded the demo of Stranglehold. It's cool, but not much for replayablity. All you do is follow a 'path' (there's only one way to go all the time) and shoot your way through it, then pause for a cinema scene. The 'tequila' time or whatever is definitely cool, but basically gimicky. I'd be sick of it in a day. Also, the story, which I gather is adapted from a movie, is LAME. The movie is clearly a total cheeseball Hong Kong action flick.
If you haven't downloaded the BioShock demo, you should. AWESOME game setting. Mood, music, style is awesome. Makes very good use of the surround system. Very eerie. Now nothing super cool on the 'shooting' side. But it's creepy (like the first time I played Resident Evil) and the story makes me want to buy the game and play through it.

Ah Swancoat just has no appreciation for John Woo films! Seriously, Stranglehold is the sequel to the move Hard Boiled and the PS3 version of the game actually has a BlueRay copy of Hard Boiled on it. Sadly the Xbox360 version doesn't come with a HD-DVD version of Hard Boiled. While the story line might seem cheesy in the first level, actually they don't give you many details in the first level at all, by level 3 or 4 the story gets very complex and interesting. As far as single path goes, well every game really only has on path it is just a matter of options along the way. That being said, later levels have multiple ways you can go to do different things and you haven't even witnessed the "barrage" feature yet, that is so cool. BTW Bioshock is a good game too, I was speaking of Stanglehold from the novel use of Tequila time, the fast reflexes necessary to play the game on harder settings and the pure joy of diving and shooting among a hail of bullets.... and not to mention the doves...

Im not sure Stranglehold has much to do with John Woo other than having his name typed on the cover of the box. I think that game is really a collection of trademarks from other games for example: the bullet time thing is borrowed from Max Payne rather than paying homage to films. The sliding down the pole trick looks more like a Tony Hawk Pro Skater impersonation. The dodging-bullets while standing in place trick is fun at first because it looks more like hes dancing. Also, that whole about picking-and-shooting (if you know what I meen) is funny at first but once you start seeing clips on YouTube...This game is for hardcore Woo fans end of story.

Did you not see that Woo sanctioned this as the official sequel to his 1992 film Hard Boiled? Did you not know that John Woo is also in the video game as the bartender in the opening scenes? Tequila time is just that, a reflection of how John Woo shot some of his early films, long before the Matrix and other films copied his style. As for sliding down a railing or a wire, sure that's been done before, but again going into Tequila time while you are doing it and spotting the right things to shoot at can make a big difference between coming out alive or getting shredded. I'm not sure what you mean by picking and shooting???? Also in later stages you better be darn good at dodging bullets in the slow-mo firefight or you are going to have to restart from your last save point. Oh and btw I just saw a poll where Stranglehold was leading Bioshock as best new game this month (Obviously Halo 3 will pass both) but it seems that your assertion that the game is for hardcore Woo fans only is misplaced. If you don't like it that's fine, but I'm sure many others will. Although if you don't play it on Xbox Live I'll have one less person to to unleash my spin move against (just unlocked it and it rocks!)...
