I was out of town Wednesday night, so I'll watch my TiVo recording tonight........... Generally unimpressed with the talent of the drivers though.

I get a kick out of the guy that is the host, and I have done several sessioins at the Panoz Racing school under Beaux, who has been an instructor there for years. I'll be interested to get his take on the show and drivers next time I see him. I have to think he cringed when he saw the lines these guys were taking around Road Atlanta on the first episode - they were horrendous.......no wonder he wouldn't let them drive in the rain!

Watched all episodes and was hoping the show will get better... well, that is 4 hours of my life I will not get back. Never seen so much product placement before in my life. I got suckered into watching a 4-hour commercial. Damn they are getting good, no wonder my Tivo wanted to skip through the entire show.

I was thoroughly unimpressed and would wager that I could take my Cayman out there and beat the pants off most if not all of those cars and drivers in the road course. They missed lines, they went too slow in areas, braked too early, lost control and had cars that consistently broke down! I've seen DE students do better, so I have to believe this was a commercial for the game and nothing more...

I was very interested in the lap times they showed for the qualifying runs.

In my 240+HP Dinan BMW with 235R comps, I can run consistant 1:51s, and have been told I am leaving about 2 seconds a lap on the track - all entry into 5 and 7, as I bog really badly coming off those corners and every 100 rpms I can carry in, I don't have to overcome coming off between gears. Sorry, but I'm not going to push my entry speed to gain that little time if I'm not racing...........

The top 2 qualifiers were 1:43 and 1:45 I belive, and the others were in the 50s, while the cars were anywhere from 50-150 hp more than I have. Given the horrendous lines they were running, it really shows how HP and a really long backstretch can overcome a lack of talent to a point for lap times, while the lack of talent sure showed up with some of the spins and banging they were doing.

Are there going to be more shows, or was this it?? If there are going to be more, maybe I need to go up and beg to be the "amature" against the so called pros!!!!!!!

And Sapple - if you want to go play in someelse's car at Road Atlanta, sign up for the Panoz Racing school!

Ditto!

I watched the final episode a few nights ago. The Muscle Car driver was showing great form - One hand on the wheel, the other lounging on the gear shift. ....all while missing apex after apex. I'd have broken him of that habit in a single D.E.

I also noticed two drivers, including Gushi, come into the pits and yank their parking brake. Maybe they sucked because their brake pads were welded to the rotors.
