Featured Articles and Classifieds!

I've added a new feature here in the forum listing at The Cayman Club - Powered by vBulletin

The forum listing now features 4 random articles at the top of the forum list and 4 random classifieds at the bottom to help draw more attention to our Articles and Classifieds section since I still get members here telling me from time to time that they didn't know we had either.

Enjoy!

BTW this should be some incentive for those who post Classified ads, if you do not upload at least one photo for your ad, it will NOT show up in the featured listing in the forums. The same is true for any article that doesn't have an uploaded photo to represent the article.

Let me know how you like it (or not)...

I very seldom go to that page, but I think the new feature is an improvement that should be kept.

Well any time you check New Posts, and then "Mark Forums Read" it will take you to the forum home. Glad you liked it!

Re: Featured Articles and Classifieds!

I am a regular to both the article and classified sections. Have learned a great deal from the articles and have bought an item or two from fellow members.
Thanks for all your efforts

What? You do use that feature? Huh?

Here's what I do, I visit the site and click New Posts, that shows me all the new posts since I last logged in or reset my cookie with the site. I then go about reading the topics I have interest in or time for and when I am doing reading I click the link for "Mark Forums Read". Let's say there were 20 new messages and I read 5 of them, by selecting "Mark Forums Read" it resets my cookie to that very instant, meaning it marks those other 15 as being read so they don't show up in future searches. Let's say I walk around from the PC for 5 minutes and come back and select New Posts again, only the posts made AFTER I clicked Marked Forums Read will show up in the results list for new posts.

It's just a good practice to do if you are done reading what you want to read so you can be assured that the next time you visit the site whatever shows up as new is really what is new since you last visited because you clicked the mark forums read link.
