I know sometimes people don't understand how to do photo attachments by scrolling down below the submit button in the standard editor and managing attachments. Likewise some people have a hard time with uploading to a gallery or album and then copy/pasting the link or BB code to make the image show up in a message.

Well, we've just made it a lot easier for everyone!

If you have uploaded a photo to one of the following places:

user album - located in user cp where our profile is
gallery - located in our gallery section
garage - located in our garage section

You can now either click the My Photos [Insert] link under the smileys in the standard editor, or the camera with green arrow in the quick reply box to immediately view and insert a photo into your message. This gives you instant access to your complete library of photos on this website!

How cool is that??

Give it a try, go ahead and reply to this topic either with the standard editor or the quick reply box and try inserting a photo. I want to see what people think!

I get the following "You do not have any photos uploaded to the gallery or no images match the filtering options set." when trying.

There is a drop down for location that has the built in user albums as the default, if you have no images in your user albums (In User CP) then try selecting one of the other 2 sources from the drop down and see what you get.

I just confirmed you have no images uploaded to your personal albums in user cp, which is the default shown, hence the message it displayed is correct.

Please try the other location(s) that you have stored photos instead.

The photos from vBGallery show up as ? so I don't know what this will be.

Interesting, if I select fast reply and then the new feature I don't get the choice of "from" but if I select the new feature without selecting fast reply I get a different pop-up that allows a choice for "from". However all the thumbnails are question marks.

I selected a picture from my album...

It pastes in the URL but only shows the blue ?

I get the from on both whether I do fast reply or do a regular reply I get the from drop down in either case.

I wonder if it is your browser?

Can you tell me where you selected this image from?

I manually pasted in the link you had inserted which is:
http://www.planetporsche.net/gallery...d_sm_thumb.jpg

and there is no such image in that location as I confirmed so I need to try and track down why not and where you were selecting from to begin with?

- This image inserted using Reply and selecting from the first From option which is Pictures & Albums.

- This image inserted using Reply and selecting from the 2nd option on the From list which is vbgallery

- This image inserted using Reply and selecting from the 3rd option on the From list which is CND Garage

Ok the above worked using IE on Vista with all 3 different options chosen via Reply to Topic. I will now try a quick reply using FireFox

Test of Fast Reply in Firefox

- This inserted via fast reply and first from option for "pictures and albums"

- This image inserted using fast reply and the second option for vbgallery

- This image inserted using fast reply and the third option for CND garage

Let's see if all 3 of these work...

Ok as far as I can tell it works for both Rely to Topic and Fast Reply for IE, FireFox and Safari whether inserting from Pictures & Albums, vbgallery, or CND Garage.

Since there is no java involved, this should be browser neutral as it simply uses code to do database selects to display your pictures.

Dang I am good with testing, but I found out why your vbulletin images aren't displaying, the link isn't being parsed correctly by the code. The Albums (option 1) work just fine and the CND garage (option 3) work just fine, but vbulletin will only work correctly for members 1-9 here on the website.

After that the folder structure isn't being parsed correctly. I've alerted the developer of the issue and it is probably a simple fix, but I don't have the time to dive into it myself. Hopefully I'll get a response/fix back soon. In the mean time just select either option 1 or option 3 for inserting photos using this new feature/tool.

This is what I see when I try to insert from vBulleting. The thumbnails for the garage show up fine. Could it be I have too many images?

No Pete, as I said in my prior message the software isn't parsing the user folder structure correctly. I have passed this on to the developer, in the mean time the usercp albums and the garage photos should both insert fine. As soon as a fix is available I will post it.
