Turn off the home page video??

Is there anyway I can turn this off by default? I'm usually listening to music when I read the entries and it's flat annoying. Thanks

    It definitely is distracting.

I use adblock and the vids still show up. At least have the courtesy to NOT have the vid start automatically. I find it very offensive to suddenly have sound coming out of my computer speakers unexpectedly.

Ok I paused adblock and I still don't see it. Guess I can't complain...

So have we determined how to get this video off yet without muting my speakers every time I come on this site?

I agree. It would be better to have it manually started rather than auto start.

Re: Turn off the home page video??

    Guys,

If you look at the "frame" that contains the video, you will see a little arrow on extreme right of the blue title bar. The arrow would be either pointing "up" or "down".
The "down" position is to show the details of the frame (pictures, video, Article...) and the "up" position is to hide the details.
You can simply toggle between the "up" and "down" positions by clicking on the arrow.

BTW, this works for all title bars, so you can customize the look of your home page to some degree :-)

Enjoy the swamp without the annoying sound of that video every time you reload your home page!

It really shouldn't have to start every time - just browsing here starts to be a bandwidth Hog. Sort it out...

Thanks Saad! I actually paid attention this time and noticed the "customize this page" button. Rearranged everything to be the way "I" like it. Closed all the windows I don't need....including the Hyundai video

I was waiting to see who discovered that first, or which members do customize their Home Page experience. To help those that don't know I've added some text on the home page in that video box with instructions on how to shut off that video by minimizing the box and refreshing. I try to make things on this site as flexible as possible so people who want something can get it and those that don't, can make it go away.

Of course for $1M I can make anything on the site go away!

OK, in that case how about giving us the option to restructure the New Posts page. You can keep your default as it is now but the forum software should allow you to make the "Last Post" give as a choice to sort by date/time independent of your default setup. If MS XL can do it so can you.
