    718 GTS vs 718S

This looks like a great deal with the GTS package saving a lot vs, configuring a 718S the same way.

But it's not that great a deal for a car that'll see a LOT of track use. I spec'd the 718S the way I'd want it for the track and added a few things for the GTS to make them comparable. In other words, I gave up the look-good stuff for the go-fast stuff. The net result (at least for me) was that the GTS, with luxury I don't need,) would cost about $6,000 more than a 719S spec'd the way I'd want it.

Or is $6,000 a fair price for 15 more hp?

But the GTS has all the performance options apart from PCCB. What else would you add to a GTS to make it more track focused?

I thought he was saying that the GTS has extra items he doesn't need for the track, so he's better off with a S model and some extra options.
Sounds like a plan to me.

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

I must have misunderstood. The GTS is only a good deal if you were going to add all the extra options to an S anyway. I think that was true for the 981 too. I don’t think the hp difference alone is worth $6000

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

$6000 is steep unless the difference in options is something you're interested in. I'm in a similar situation but the price difference is only $1000. The extra options are NOT worth $1000 to me but I'm still going to jump on a GTS simply because it will feel a little more 'special' than an S and it will depreciate a lot slower than an S.

my 2 cents .. GTS is good if you plan to keep the car for long since it depreciates lesser compared to S (and hence is harder to sell). Also not everyone is a fan of alcantara all over the place and 20" wheels

The GTS allows a free leather upgrade but 20" wheels are required.

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

so if you take 718S and add PASM, PTV, sport exhaust, sport chrono, better seats you say it's much cheaper than GTS?
anything else i've missed from the go-fast options?

Can you be a little more specific about the specs you compared? When I spec out a Cayman S with just the performance bits in the GTS (Sport Seats Plus, PASM, PTV, Sport Chrono, Bi-Xenon, PSE) the total comes out to $78270, which is only $1530 less than a GTS without all the cosmetics and the 15hp difference.

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

When I spec out a Cayman S with everything the GTS comes with standard (save for the Alcantara seats, as that's not an option for the S), I get a Cayman S with a Delivered Price of $82,530 which is higher than the GTS price as delivered of $80,850.

See the attached two images for details and let me know where I've gone wrong.

You missed PSE, which is about $2500 US

    Good catch, thanks.

Cayman S with the sport features of the GTS comes to a Delivered Price of $84,490 which is higher than the GTS price as delivered of $80,850.

In addition to being less expensive, the GTS comes with full Alcantara seats and more power.

(come to think of it, doesn't the GTS come with red gauges, too? If so, add another ~$800 on the S build).

I'd delete all the leather etc. goodies to save money.

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

Start with 718S. Add premium package which gets you power seats, Bi-xenon and seat heating. Add PASM with 20mm lowering. Add Sport Chrono. Add Bose: $78,930

Stat with GTS. To get power seats you must add a leather interior. Add PASM with 20mm. Add Bose: $88,290

As I configured it I ignored Nav, which is optional on both models. I also skipped PSE. My configuration is for track use, so no elegant upgrades. Thus $10,000 for 15 hp.

Not sure where you're getting those numbers, but they're slightly off.

I was just on the configurator and added the exact options you listed. The 718S with premium package, PASM Sport 20mm, Sport Chrono, and Bose came out to $79110. You also forgot to add PTV (standard on the GTS), which would be considered a performance option useful for the track, so if you add that it comes out to $80430.

A 718GTS with adaptive sport seats, PASM Sport 20mm, deletion of Alcantara ($0 option) and Bose comes out to $85160.

That's a $4730 difference for 15 more HP, Alcantara interior, PSE, 20" wheels, and SportDesign fascia. Not $10000.

    Re: 718 GTS vs 718S

don't see a reason for power seats.
love my manual sport plus seats.
    you don't mention sport crono.
