Complete OEM Parts List for 981 CS Center Radiator Installation

This is the complete OEM parts list I used to install the center radiator on my 2014 CS-PDK, without Distance Sensor (Automatic Cruise Control PR:456)

    991 106 137 02 Radiator center 1ea
    991 106 237 01 Retaining frame 1ea
    991 106 337 01 Sealing frame 1ea
    991 106 537 01 Rubber bushing upper 2ea
    991 106 538 02 Rubber bushing lower 2ea
    991 106 638 02 Water hose 1ea
    991 106 639 01 Water hose 1ea
    999 984 638 01 Hexagon nut M6 4ea
    981 575 141 09 Center Air Duct 1ea

    981 575 322 03 1E0 Side Air Duct Right (closed) 1ea

    NOTES:
    1. Hose clamps are included with the hoses.
    2. My car had the open side air ducts which I opted to change to the closed design.
    3. I used 4.5 gallons of 50:50 antifreeze mix after flushing the cooling system using the Schwaben Coolant Refill/Air Purge Tool #003466SCH01

Thanks for the parts list. I am glad you cracked the option codes to get the correct part number for the 981-575-141-09 air guide. I will go ahead and get all the parts on order for my 2014 CS with PDK and no ACC (distance control). I have already received my CSF-7060 aluminum center radiator that appears to be a direct fit replacement for the stock Porsche radiator. LN Engineering has it on sale for $250 (normal price is $499) and free shipping. It is supposed to have 40% increased cooling capacity and have 15%-25% increased cooling efficiency. The quality looks great and I thought for $50 extra over the stock radiator (with the sale price) it is money well spent.
I had previously flushed the cooling system when I installed my FF1 engine mount insert. The coolant drain uses a 900-123-007-30 crush washer which I am adding to my order as well as (2) 996-106-801-05 return hose "O" rings (so I will not have to reuse the old ones). I used the Airlift #550000 to fill and bleed the coolant and had good results.
After completing your installation do you feel you are getting a benefit by changing to the closed design side air ducts over our original open side air ducts? Does it appear to funnel more air into each of three radiators?
Thanks for all of your help and research and posting the complete parts list as it appears to save money and get a more complete package over some of the pre-packaged kits.

    Jim.

Great deal and good call on the CSF-7060 from LN Engineering. Wish I had given that more thought before ordering the OEM center radiator.

The closed style side air ducts will direct 100% of the incoming air flow to the side radiators, where the open style would have left an escape route for some of it. Not sure whether they will make a measurable difference. I've been known to be anal about lesser things, but I'm working on that .

Keep us updated on your progress with the CSF install.

    jfh,

I had a long delay due to emergency surgery on my wife but finally got back to work and completed the CSF center radiator install as well as the Maxspeed Backup camera install. Your parts list is complete and accurate for a 981 with PDK and no distance sensors. I would add that the radiator hoses not only come with the clamps that you noted but also come with the "O" rings. I went ahead and orderd the closed side air ducts for the proper air flow through all three radiators(good advise). I was able to get your complete parts list from an on line Porsche site for $820 (with free shipping) including the CSF aluminum radiator that I previously purchased on sale for $250.

The only issue I had with the CSF radiator was that I had to install it with the CSF painted logo to the back side and the "C" bottom brackets on the radiator installed with the open part of the "C" facing forward. This allowed for the sealing frame to snap into the slots in the radiator frame and allow for the space for the radiator to vent through the four cut in vent holes in the fascia panel. The center air duct make a tight seal to sealing frame and all the air flow goes through the radiator and out the cut in vent holes.

I am impressed with the CSF radiator and after a long drive the inlet side of the radiator is noticeably hotter than the outlet side which means that it is substantially lowering the water temperature. I checked this immediately after a drive by feeling up through the cut in vent holes and touching the ends of the radiator. The air temperature was only 75 degrees on my long spirited test drive and I did not see the oil temperature go above 219 in normal mode and 212 in sport mode.

Thanks again for your complete and accurate parts list that made the job go quick and easy.

    Jim,

I hope your wife's surgery and recovery went well. Thank you for the follow up on your installation.

Re: Complete OEM Parts List for 981 CS Center Radiator Installation

I discovered this as well. The pics on the Schnell site show incorrect radiator position. It's backward. I put a comment on the site to that effect so that future people might see it and not try to force installing the radiator the wrong way (like I did initially).
