Cylinder #6 - soft shut down, misfire, check engine light etc. causing PSM loss and start/stop activation disabled. It also drove rough and was worse than before

Appears to be only happening at cylinder #6 though. Could it be the spark plugs that i need to tackle next? any thoughts?
Are you sure you did cylinder #6? I've seen conflicting info online about which cylinder is which on our cars. When I did mine, I just replaced all 6 coils because I assumed if one was going, the rest would follow.

Good point. Is #6 the one that's closest to the driver, on the driver side? That's the one I replaced. If that's not #6 then lmao, I would have to do the other side.
I dont think the code reader would be pointing to the wrong cylinder, it's all communicating with the car's ECU. All the codes i have seen before and after the install is pointing to #6 only

I honestly never found a good answer. I don't know. Mine also pointed to #6... but which is 6? For all I know, it could be any one of the 4 corners of the engine depending on how you look at it or where you start counting from. I even spent a bit of time trying to find the info in the OEM service manual, no luck ( I probably didn't look hard enough ).

Seems similar to what I had with my 13BS. Ultimately changed coil packs and spark plugs between cylinders. Error codes persisted. Next step flow down and compression test which were OK. Bottom line keeper clip failed and valve not closing when expected. Engine dropped, heads off, and many $$$$ later.

Re: PSM Failure followed by PSM Loss on track day

So my #6 was misfiring pretty bad, the car ran rough and has no power at pickup. I took's Johanmalay's point and instead changed the coil on the driver's side furthest away from the driver (nearest to the exhaust and was very easy to replace), the car runs fine, cleared codes and they havent came back yet. So at least in my case, #6 is the one on the driver's side, furthest away from the driver. Apparently I changed out #4 last time and not #6 LOL. It's pretty amazing the faulty #6 did another 500 miles before giving up including a long drive, so they do give you warning signs before going out. Thanks all!
