    Headliner dropping?

This is weird. Just noticed that the headliner on my Cayman is dropping down just over the driver's side window. Tried pushing back in place, but it won't stay. Anyone else see this happening and will it be much of a repair?

Lot's of complaints and posts regarding this. I just had mine done the other day for $490. You can find cheaper if you hunt around. The dealer wanted $2200.

    Hello harrygator,
Drooping headliner on Caymans after about 8 years is fairly normal, not good but normal.
In the Los Angeles area repair by independent shops cost in the $325-$350 range.
    Good luck in AZ.

Happened to my 2014 CS... local indy shop in Dallas was $350 to replace. Seems to occur in hot/humid climate, which loosens bond... then made worse driving for windows down which agitates the condition.

It may not be just a climate issue. I am in So Ca. and my car is always garaged and is rarely left in the hot sun. Humidity is usually low here as well. I agree about the wind may exacerbate the problem. Many headliners came down in So Ca. I think this is a Porsche materials issue, although hot and humid certainly my help this along.

    Re: Headliner dropping?

Visited my local auto repair shop and they quoted me $300 to fix. Seems consistent with other posts so I've scheduled the repair. Tried to get some background on this from my Porsche dealer with regard to the factory being aware of the problem but nothing.

    Re: Headliner dropping?

My headliner dropped last week (it was suddenly, not incrementally--fine one day, drooping the next day. Covered parking). Dealer ordered replacement, took two days to arrive.
Anyway, being replaced under CPO tomorrow (Monday 24 June), as the car will be in for oil/filter (saves me a trip).
