    Headlight part# question

Hello all, just wondering if someone can help me with a part number question. I need to swap my passenger side headlight and am having trouble finding the exact part number on the used market. Mine is part# 981.631.136.06. I'm finding several on eBay that seem like the exact same part but they're #981.631.136.11. Does anyone know if they're interchangeable? They're both Xenon, but is one compatible with PDLS and the other not? I hate to buy one and it be slightly different. Any help is appreciated.

    Re: Headlight part# question

The one thing I noticed in reading the descriptions on Ebay is the 11 generally says Bi-Xenon, whereas 06 only says Xenon. Is it possible that the 06 uses Halogen for either the high or low beam?

I have had good luck emailing the guys at Suncoasticon and Porschepartsnow and asking for more details about part numbers. Hope this helps.

Hmmm, I hadn't noticed that. I'll definitely give those folks a try and see if they can shed any light. I'm just having trouble finding an 06 part# that isn't $500+. I'm sure it's just a timing thing so I'll just need to keep looking. Thanks a bunch.

    Re: Headlight part# question

Usually, in the Porsche numbering schema, the last digits are used for updated revisions. These are generally interchangable with earlier revisions. If the functionality were different, the basic part number would be different.

    Re: Headlight part# question

There is a big sticker on your headlights with a part number. Most [email protected] sellers use that number. You will not find it in on-line from a Porsche dealer as Porsche sells only the entire headlight assembly and that has a different number.

Beware that most of the [email protected] used lights have lens defects from crazing to chipped sections. Lighting in photos can hide cracks in the UV coating. Buyer beware.

I recently looked for a replacement driver's side bi-xenon headlight and only found one that the lens looked good and I passed on it due to low seller feedback rating. There are four types. A halogen, and a xenon with fixed lens and two bi-xenons, one for base and S models, and one with additional black on the inside (GTS, gt4).

    Driver's side S Bi-Xenon assembly: 981 631 235 08 (Note my car's headlight was stickered: 981 631 135 11) New assembly is $1500 discounted
    GT4 is $2100

Factory Service Manual says that certain parts of the light must be replaced when the headlight is removed from the assembly, hence why they only sell complete assemblies.

Try this site for headlights and other parts: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

LA Dismantlers is another place to try. I've worked them a few times and they are reasonable. Their inventory changes frequently so check often. I have no affiliation with them otherwise.

    Re: Headlight part# question

Thanks so much for the replies. My car was in the great San Antonio hail storm in 2016 and the insurance replaced one headlight, but the other developed internal damage over time and now looks much worse than the new one. I'm not finding hardly any with the 06 number at the end so it'd be great to find suitable subs. Thanks so much for the replies.
