    Cool PSE: SPORT vs SPORT+

    Hi everyone

I was wondering if there are any noticeable differences in the sound of a 981S (with PSE) in SPORT vs SPORT+ modes. I have heard that you get more (but not necessarily louder) pops & bangs in SPORT+ mode compared to regular SPORT mode. Is this true? Any other differences? Much appreciated!

In my 981 CGTS, I don't know if it's just me but I think the pops and burbles are more pronounced (and louder) on regular SPORT mode.

I don't believe the sport+ gives more pops. Sport does that (intentionally adjusting mixture so the fuel burns in the exhaust on downshifts) and that's it. Sport + just gives more aggressive gas pedal mapping and gearshifts program in PDK.

I recently had PSE retro fitted with the console button onto my 2013 BS and absolutely love it. I will attest that SPORT+ do sound louder when throttle off and up shifts. You also get a few more burbles on SPORT+ than sport.

Hmmm, maybe it's a different result when you already have Sports Chrono on a retro fit.

I have a 2014 CS with SC and PDK, to which PSE was retrofitted.

To my ears, Sport sounds more aggressive than Sport+. When shifting up they sound about the same, but throttle lift-offs/engine breaking and downshifts seem louder in Sport vs Sport+.

Agree with this. Most consensus has it as SPORT being the most aggressive pop/burbles. SPORT+ has less pops but more aggressive mapping. That's the way it is on my GTS!
