    Boxster ragtop

This may sound like a dumb question. I remember way back when, when you had a ragtop and washed the car, you were supposed to wait a while before putting the top down due to material shrinkage. Is this still an issue with ragtops like my 09 Boxster?

    Re: Boxster ragtop

Not sure the reason, but I've read that the top should not be lowered when the fabric is wet. Whether it's due to potential shrinkage, or creasing, or not being able to dry properly, or some other reason, I suspect that it's good advice.

You should wait until it dries to lower the top or you will leave permanent marks in the material.

I believe that shrinkage is no longer an issue. However, mold is and if you put it away wet in that dark place it will eventually grow mold.

As RickH says , I also believe it's a potential for a mold issue
