    Developing problem with digital speedo

    Hi All,
I have a growing problem with the digital [portion of the speedo on my 2007 Cayman S that I have owned since new.
The problem is that there is a light hole in the dark portion of the digital speedo. It seems that the black coating is flaking off. It is right above the speed being displayed. You can see it in the attached photo right above and to the side of the "0" being displayed. I am concerned that the light hole will grow and interfere with the speed display, not to mention it just bothers me.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this a dealer repair job only or can it be done at home? Degree of complexity?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Bill.

Looks like you've got some pixels going/gone bad. Found a similar issue thread on here, but didn't seem to offer much help. Maybe you'll be able to find a local shop to fix your cluster. Either way, it's gotta come outta the car for repair/replacement. https://www.planet-9.com/987-cayman-...r-display.html

LCD is gone bad. There is no fix aside from replacement.

From the linked threads it might be a little expensive to fix, might consider living with it...
