I coulda swore a few years ago there was a shop in the New England states, maybe Connecticut, that would either rebuild or exchange a PDK trans for $15k. Am I just imagining things?
I don't ever recall seeing a shop that does PDK service/exchange. At $15k, I'd likely go for a Porsche unit rather than an indy shop. At $6500 or so, an Indy getting into it now could build a pretty decent biz as PDKs start to fail. (Not saying PDKs are failure prone, but as they get older, failure rates will increase...and for those out of warranty, Porsche dealer replacments are pretty pricey.)
PDK was not offered on the 987.1 cars, so this would have to be for a 987.2 Boxster or Cayman. 987.1 non-manual cars had Tiptronic automatic transmissions.
