Carbon Bucket Seats

Does anyone know for sure whether the carbon bucket seats which are an option for the 981 GT4 would accommodate 5 point harnesses? I assume someone would have to install a mounting plate on the floor for the bottom belts, and a roll bar or harness bar for the shoulder belts, but someone told me the seats don't have an opening (slit) for the center belt between the legs...true? Rumor? Has anyone installed 5 points in a new GT4 and what were their experiences?

Thanks very much, I am seriously thinking of ordering a GT4, and am debating whether to get standard sport seats (which is what I have in current 997.1 GT3 and have used on track successfully, but of course no 5 point belts) or the carbon buckets so I can do the 5 point belts.

Also wondering if any firm info on if/when GT4 will be available with PDK? Again, seems to be a lot of rumor and no fact.

Cheers, and thanks in advance, Ben.

Ben, order the Sport Buckets, if you don't want them I'll give you $5,000 and pay for the replacement seats. Goldcrest should have a few sets. :hilarious:
You could purchase a sub-mount bar for the GT2 seats, the LWSBs should come with one or you should be able to buy the sub-mount.
PDK - I think the new Club Sport Edition came with PDK, we won't know for sure if the rumors are true until the 2017 model is released.

I don't have my GT4 yet but I understand the seats are the same as the LWBs in the GT3- the driver seat has the cutout for sub belts (6pt preferred over 5pt). The passenger seat does not have the opening but there is an outline and it can be cut. I have seen one GT4 with the installation at a local track. His harness bar and substrap mounting base were done at GMG IIRC. I'm also considering the Cantrell roll bar and sub strap mounting bar.

If it is of any interest, I asked my dealer to set-up a test drive with a car having the carbon bucket seats as in the GT4. If I am lucky enough I will be able to test those in a GT3RS
If you have any specific question I can address them directly the day I do the test drive (hopefully soon)

Have a great week
