confused... Are the adaptive motor mounts standard?

Hi all. Some docs seem to imply that you have to get the sport chrono package to get the
adaptive motor mounts. Is that true?
    Thanks!

    Hi Joe.

That is what I remember. Such being maybe the only reason I ponied up for the sport chrono on LG.

Yes, sport chrono is required and in the 981 it's active transmission mounts, not engine mounts. The 991 gets active engine mounts. It has to do with the suspension geometry and the location of the mounts.

Re: confused... Are the adaptive motor mounts standard?

The Porsche car configurator doesn't mention anything about transmission mounts when describing the Sports Chrono package...

"Comprising an analog stopwatch on the dashboard, a digital stopwatch function in the instrument cluster, the Porsche Track Precision app and preparation for a lap trigger. The Porsche Track Precision app enables your driving stats to be displayed in detail, logged and analyzed on your smartphone. The lap timer can be stopped manually using the control stalk for the Sport Chrono function automated by GPS or, for even greater precision, by means of the optional lap trigger available from Porsche Tequipment. You can then compare your lap times on your smartphone. The app also visualizes driving dynamics, presents a video analysis and allows you to manage the logs, circuit profiles and driver profiles on the smartphone device. Note: use of the app permitted on closed land only. For information on compatible mobile phones, please visit Official Porsche Website - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG or consult your Porsche Center. Notes: additional performance display on integrated 7-inch color touchscreen in conjunction with Porsche Communication Management (PCM). Available from 02/2015"

Re: confused... Are the adaptive motor mounts standard?

Check out this link: Porsche Cayman - Dynamic transmission mounts - Porsche Cars North America or Porsche Boxster S - Dynamic transmission mounts - Porsche Cars North America lest you think it's only on the Cayman.

    Dynamic transmission mounts

Dynamic transmission mounts are included as part of the optional Sport Chrono Package. They are designed to enhance both performance and comfort.
The electronically controlled system minimizes the oscillations and vibrations of the entire drive train, especially the engine.
The transmission is bolted to the body by two mounts. Like any mass, it obeys the law of inertia. This means that it will continue moving in a uniformly straight line unless some force causes it to change direction. Put more simply: when you are driving into a bend, the vehicle will follow your steering but, at first, the mass of the drive train will not. This means that the rear of the vehicle will ultimately be pushed outwards as a result of the drive train’s force of inertia.
Dynamic transmission mounts minimize this effect. Steering angle and both longitudinal and lateral acceleration are constantly recorded by sensors. The stiffness and damping performance of the transmission mounts adapt to changes in driving style and road surface conditions, which is achieved by use of a fluid with magnetic properties. This results in greater traction, perceptibly more stable handling under load change conditions and in fast corners and, in conjunction with the ‘Launch Control’ function for example, extremely fast acceleration.
Using the SPORT or SPORT PLUS button you can switch the dynamic transmission mounts from ‘Normal’ to ‘Sport’ or ‘Performance’ mode and intensify your driving pleasure.
In conjunction with optional PCM, the G-Force graphic on the TFT screen in the right-hand circular instrument enables you to view the lateral and longitudinal forces as they act on the vehicle.

OP- are you asking about the GT4? If so, dynamic gearbox mounts, PTV, PASM are all standard. Sport Chrono is the dash clock and the precision track app. The drive train is not changed with SC option. I thought it was a bit pricey for the track app and have heard mixed opinions about the app. I have an AIM solo DL already so didn't spec the SC option.

ah, I didn't notice the GT4 specific forum, I was browsing using new posts. Yes, they are standard on the GT4

Re: confused... Are the adaptive motor mounts standard?

Yes, thanks all. I am asking specifically about the GT4, so I now understand that I get all the chassis goodness standard, and that
for the extra $1,600 or so bux, all I get is the stopwatch on the dash and the app. I will not be needing the app, as I will be
getting a race-technology 20hz GPS datalogger with video integration. Wid'ya Zedcat!

Oh, and I'm getting their OBDII ECU connector so the datalogger can record the RPM, steering angle, brake and throttle etc!
