  2. Going from 19" wheels to 18" wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S?

    981 Cayman and Boxster Modifications
I think you've got a good handle on this. Your 245/45 & 275/45 choice is sound, based on your goals. I'd go with it. One misconception, though: a 1" smaller diameter tire will drop the car's ride height by only 1/2", because the ride height is affected by the radius of the tire, i.e as measured...

Thanks again, and I hope this solves your problem. To be clear I fully understand: Does the adapter plug into the racetrack shaped port, then the blast media is introduced into the center or offset holes, and the vacuum is applied at the small end of the cone? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

Thanks very much for sharing your progress. Am I correct in presuming that you simultaneously shell-blasted and vacuumed the spent shells at each of the intake ports? If so, do you plan to likewise inspect and/or clean the exhaust ports? I'm looking forward to comparing the before- and after-...

  10. First poor dealer service

981 Cayman and Boxster Service and Tech
IMO, you should have given the dealership a five star rating for making it right by you. I'm sure the employee will get schooled by the dealership for making them eat part of the service. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  11. Something to be concerned about?

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
Take a look at the other end of that same diagonal strut. It looks very similar to your newly "modified" end. I wouldn't worry about it, but I'd take a file to it to smooth out the rough edges. Also, I'd check the torque on all of the strut bolts just to be safe. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  13. What else when changing springs?

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
What part numbers are you referring to as "bump stops"? IIRC the struts have internal bump stops. I believe this is one of the reasons -- along with firmer valving, appropriate to the stiffer spring rate -- to replace the struts when installing lowering springs. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
