  1. 2012 Panamera4 PDK Fluid Change

    Panamera Talk
The Panamera service schedule is a fluid change at 60K. At 120K, it is a fluid change and filter change. Look up the service schedule, like this site.
  2. Check engine light on a road trip

987 Cayman and Boxster Service and Tech
Yes, start with Autozone or other big chain auto parts store and pull the code for the CEL. On my 2007, the code was P1486 and due to the gas cap. There is a rubber seal that deteriorates over time.
  3. Cayman S Homelink transmitter location.

    987 Cayman and Boxster Electronics
For the older model year vehicles, search for "Homelink Repeater Kit" or "Homelink Compatibility Bridge".
  4. Need help diagnosing a problem

    Panamera Talk
Search other forums with more activity for Panamera's. With regards to the crunching noise, it is from the suspension bushings when it is cold. Not necessarily a problem, if the bushings are still in good condition. If the car is Porsche CPO, it may be address under warranty?
  5. 2012 Panamera side fender vent removal and installation

    Panamera Talk
Search for "panamera fender side vent removal" and you'll find a few links... "Basically, the inner wheel liner has to be removed to access the vents (easiest if the wheel is removed). The Side Vent actually attaches to another plastic insert, so that plastic insert has to be removed, then the...
  6. 3rd time but no charm - Tire Balance

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
Yes, agree on the Road Force Balancer. There is a maximum limit (in the mid-20's) when a tire is not acceptable on the Road Force Balancer despite optimizing wheel and tire placement. If the tire is still under warranty, you may be able to have it replaced. I've had multiple tires replaced when...
  7. Favorite east coast driving roads with your Porsche?

    U.S. Southern Region
This is the route that includes the Diamondback and Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots of good driving routes and scenic stops in western NC, as well as eastern WV. You have to go further west for Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and Great Smoky Mountains. It is impossible to visit all the great...
  8. Advice on slight ticking engine noise

987 Cayman and Boxster Problems and Complaints

  9. Windshield replacement

981 Cayman and Boxster Service and Tech
"Glass Coverage" is a separate/optional item on our policy. Contact your insurance and ask about it. You do not need to file a claim, but may need their authorization if it is covered.
  10. Windshield replacement

981 Cayman and Boxster Service and Tech
Price is in the ballpark for a dealership. If you have full glass coverage with your insurance, they "may" cover it. You will have to verify with your insurance company and specifically ask if OEM replacement windshield is covered as that will likely be used. The dealership that I used...
  11. Strange noise

    981 Chat
Check the trim, molding or weather strip around the windshield...especially if work was done on the windshield? Had the windshield replaced on a car. The trim was reinstalled and the seal on a trim was pinched in one spot, resulting in a chatter at high speeds.
  12. New Boxster Spyder owner

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
The 2010 Boxster Owner's Manual is in the "Files" section.
  13. Question 987.1 Snow tire suggestion

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
I believe that 17" wheels will not work on a Cayman S. There is insufficient clearance for the front brakes. You probably need to keep to a staggered set up (relatively same tire diameter), else it will create problems for PSM.
  14. Road trip advice: Oklahoma to Bay Area

    981 Chat
Yes, Pikes Peak Highway is now paved all the way to the top. The parking lot at the top is gravel. I don't recall if there was available parking at the end of the asphalt road. It is still intimidating driving above the tree line with no guardrails and steep cliffs on one side. You will also...
  15. Road trip advice: Oklahoma to Bay Area

    981 Chat
That is a lot of territory that you will be covering between Tulsa and Kansas. Places to visit will depend a lot on your interests and primary routes? Some suggestions here and will be dependent on weather as it is getting late in the year, especially if you have summer tires and at higher...
