Re: Accessport for porsche 981 cayman, boxster / 991.1 carrera (cobb)
The Boxster/Cayman S has the same engine as the 911 (991.1) Carrera, but it's handicapped by a combination of tuning and asthma (breathing problems ).
The Boxster is further handicapped by 10 HP via tuning. The Cobb tune gives the Boxster that HP back.
The Cayman and Boxster S then get an additional 5-8% HP across the torque and HP curves on a Stage 1 (stock vehicle). The Cobb tunes are relatively conservative, and a pro tune could wring out a few additional HP, further aided by aftermarket exhaust and intake mods.
With a Stage 1 tune, you get a better throttle response in all modes, and there is a noticeable (though not dramatic) increase in pull across the range. If you track the car, you will notice the difference on on the track. If you're not tracking the car, it probably won't do much for you on a daily basis.
Based on the torque/HP maps, I would expect the base model to see more noticeable performance gains. When I test drove the base, I thought it felt quite sluggish, so I would think these throttle response and HP/torque gains would be more dramatic.
