    Tire question

I have been using Bridgestone Re 1's on my 19 inch wheels

    Front are 245-35-19

    Rears are 275-35-19

i miss Nitto NT 01's but they do not have the same sizes available the nearest they have is

    Front 235-35-19

    Rears 285-35-19

    Have a few questions :

    1. will i notice a big difference with the smaller tires in front ?

    2. will the 285-35-19's fit in the rear with no issue ?

    3. Because the sizes are so different will that kick off any warnings do to size differences ?

does anyone use this combination of sizes ?

thanks in advance for any help on this

    Re: Tire question

    Dennis:

Check the diameters of the 235/285 but I'm guessing this combination will be fine. The stock 20" diameters are 26.5"F and 27.3"R. I have run the following combinations on my 2014 CS at VIR with no issues. Yes there are minor handling characteristic changes but once you adapt all is good.

    235/265-20's (P Zero street), 255/650/19 305/690/19 (slicks), 235/645/19 255/650/19 (slicks), 245/645/18 305/680/18 (slicks)

    Re: Tire question

Ride quality in the front will seem a bit worse with the shorter sidewall and you'll have less tire flex going into the corners. The side wall construction of the tire and air pressure can adjust for varying tire flex.
More rubber in the rear and less rubber in the front may make the car more prone to understeer from what you're currently used to.

But the biggest concern is how much you're changing the front to rear diameter ratio. Deviating too far from a stock front to rear ratio can upset the ABS balance, which may cause the smaller diameter (fronts) to briefly lock up under hard braking.
