  1. Re: Have you noticed the 981 Cayman appreciating over the last year?

    High beta 😉
  2. Re: Have you noticed the 981 Cayman appreciating over the last year?

I did buy the car to enjoy. I’m not sure why anyone would buy a car as an investment when you could make 2-3% a day playing the markets. It’s just fun conversation.
  3. Re: Have you noticed the 981 Cayman appreciating over the last year?

That’s a good point. Spring is the worst time to buy a sports car. I think in 20 years, all 981 prices will go up, especially the 6mt. Not only will it be the last of the flat 6, but I doubt a...

    Re: Cayman or Cayman S

I have a base 6mt cayman, and don’t think it’s underpowered at all! If you keep the rpms above 4K, I can’t see how anyone wouldn’t be satisfied. In fact, I think the base 6mt with x73 is a perfect...

Re: First Impressions My New 718 vs Previous 981

Thanks for posting your impressions. Do you typically lease for 2 years? I assume so since this is your 4th cayman in 8 years.

Now that you had the car for a month, is there anything you miss...

Re: Is PTV worth it for the 718 Cayman S?

I use my current car on the street only. I predict if I get a 718 s, I may do some occasional track. With the base 981, I don't feel the need for an LSD, but i think a lot has to do with the low...

Re: Is PTV worth it for the 718 Cayman S?

PTV = Porsche Torque Vectoring (LSD Alternative)

Due to the massive torque coming in at <2000 rpm, I'm guessing that PTV may be even more useful powering out of a turn than in the 981. Ofcouse,...

Is PTV worth it for the 718 Cayman S?

I noticed you have to check the PASM box to enable PTV selection, making PTV a 3k+ upgrade.

Im guessing PTV is necessary given the torque curve of the 718 S.

    Can anyone share their...

    Re: 718 S vs 981 GTS

If it's a daily driver, my vote goes to the 718. Don't get me wrong, the 981 GTS can be driven daily, but there is something more raw about the 981 vs 718. The way it makes power and the sound is...

    Re: 2016 gt4 or 2019 regular cayman?

2 completely different cars. GT4 will always be considered a collector vs any 718, thus resale value will be very reasonable in comparison. 718 is the better/more comfortable daily driver bc the...

Anyone waiting for the Cayman T

Im curious to see if Porsche uses a vtg turbo with the 2.0, or will the focus be only on weight. The Carrera T comes with all the performance options, and sport Tex seats without full leather. You...

Re: What size is the GT4 rear sway bar?

Thanks for the info. So would I be able to install this bar on a base cayman without upgrading endlinks?

What size is the GT4 rear sway bar?

Is it the same size as the X73 bar (22mm) or larger?

    Re: Replacement TPMS options

From what I gather, the set I included in my initial post may need to be programmed. I don’t know how involved that is, but I believe it’s just a tool that should be able to plug into the valve.

Thanks for the lead. I’m hoping someone can comment on the set in my pic as it’s going for 150$ and is made by the same company.

  23. Re: 981 with X73 Sport Suspension - 19s or 20s? (And some other options questions...

I think the 20" wheels are overkill for all cayman variations. If it weren't for the required 45 series tire, the 18's would be perfect, but my pick would be some very light 19's.

Re: Here is the Official 718 Boxster

Subaru wrx turbos are not cheap, they are 35-40k new, and very fun to drive I might add. Also, turbo cars tend to naturally suppress their exhaust sound when stock. With the 718, perhaps further...
