Re: Tire Rack Order - Should I Complain?

Good move. At half price, it's a good deal. The rears won't last you more than 10K miles anyway (if you drive it like it should be driven), so after 3 winter seasons you'll probably be needing...
  2. Re: Anyway to have Rev matching also on Sport only Setting?

    A couple of work arounds:
    1. Switch to using Sports + (only downside, or maybe a good thing, is less crackles on overrun).
    2. Keep using Sport and get a Rennline aluminum pedal set with extenders...

    Re: PSE removed

It's not the mph, it's the RPM. Keep above 3000 RPM , no drone, better responsiveness, and more fun. Granted the MPG will take a hit...
  4. Re: HELLLLLP!!! my car just died (won't turn on)

Buy a new battery and replace it yourself (easy). I'll bet everything will be fine afterwards. Then use a trickle charger going forward (or even better use the Porsche more!). Good luck

    Re: PDK Sports Plus Shortshifting

I'd argue there is a another choice next to straight manual: Manual with Sports Chrono package. Gives you perfect rev matches without heal toe, and gives you a warning before a money shift, since the...

Re: Crash Safety Tests - Euro 2019

    "one of the best"

Nothing in the above claimed "the best" .

But still a commendable improvement from earlier test results.

Re: The Dreaded Front License Plate

I've also got a front plate story. I ordered a 718, and like the two P-cars before it, told the SA (and his designate) no front plate.

I went 7 months without a plate on the 981 but the local LEO...
  8. Re: Which one would you choose? 2 BS for sale that I am looking at.

Congratulations, great looking car. I like the agate gray, maybe add some red seat belts to give it some color inside and hold off on the wrap. I'm with Swifte on the red belts in black interiors.

Re: My Car Whistles at Me

I'll be picking up my new Boxster on Saturday. I'll give a listen.

The 991.2 leaves the fans on to cool the turbos, but that lasts longer and I wouldn't call it a whistle.

Re: Porsche Moving Cayman Production Facility

"Porsche, which has revised upward the new 911ís sales expectations, will move production of the Cayman from its factory in Stuttgart to VW Groupís plant in Osnabrueck."

    I didn't realize they had...

    Re: Ordering

Today I placed a custom order for a 718 Boxster. The dealer said they just got new allocations when I first called yesterday. My freeze date for the build is 4/7/19 and the ETA at dealer is 7/12/19. ...
  12. Boxster Re: Replace ignition coils when replacing plugs at 60K?

On my then new to me 2006 Cayman S I had my indie replace the plugs at 32000 and 7 years. Good idea to replace these before they have a chance to seize. Multiple coil packs had cracks, so they were...

    Re: 718 Bashing

I think part of it is defending your prior purchase. We all agonize over choosing a Porsche, we fall in love with it, and along comes a newer model. We read the reviews, are a bit jealous of the...

Re: Gen 1 3.4 Bore scoring issues

There is a "sticky thread" on rennlist 997 forum about bore scoring, worth a look. It has a poll, too. I went through it because I was about to pull the trigger on a 997.1 Carrera S but the data...

    Re: Return of the six?????!!!!!!

You might want to test drive the Carrera T with manual transmission. As far as adding turbos, Porsche has done a good job with the smaller 3L flat six. It sounds good (different than the NA but...

Re: Searching for Red 981S Manual!!

If you can swing the extra $ I would give the Carrera T a look. The new flat 6 turbos retain a NA feel, Porsche has done an excellent job with that engine. I haven't driven a T (it was announced...

Poll: Re: Do your crests point to the stems?

And of course PTV is a great option because it keeps the rear wheel from independently spinning, so it is much easier keeping the crests aligned.

Poll: Re: Do your crests point to the stems?

And of course both the fronts and rears should match in the direction they point, on any given side. (Tip: jack up the front to adjust)

Extra credit if all 4 in same direction.

    PS What's...

Re: 10,000 for first oil change?!

It is a straight forward and easy DIY (there is a good thread with pictures on this forum). I did 3 oil changes on my 981 before I traded it in at 3 years and 22K, documented with pictures and...
