    Re: Mid-Engine Debate 981/982 or C8

But Porsche was also on bankruptcy's door in the mid 1990s and as recently as 2008. In 1995 Porsche copied the Japanese production models, which saved them along of course with the Boxster....

But I expect that they must be offering huge discounts on C7s, and they'll probably get even larger after the C8 introduction. Think I may be checking out the C7 Z06 in a couple of months.

Can you point to any 6+ page thread that stays on topic. Any multi page thread is certain to have references to MT vs PDK, 6 cyl NA vs 4 cyl turbo, and at least one reference to global warming. ;)

    Re: Mid-Engine Debate 981/982 or C8

And that's the critical point: which system gives you the most pleasure. For professional race car drivers it's a no-brainer, but for others it's an individual choice based on a variety of factors.
  7. Re: Have you noticed the 981 Cayman appreciating over the last year?

That's easy. Just get elected to Congress. The rules for insider trading don't apply to them.

    Re: Mid-Engine Debate 981/982 or C8

You are definitely in the majority, since at least 80% of Porsches and Corvettes are ordered with autos. The only people who will suffer are those who buy used sports cars and want a MT. Used...

    Re: Mid-Engine Debate 981/982 or C8

I suppose that there are two types of people who do DEs. Those who think that they are racing, and people like me who just want to be have a place where they can legally drive in the triple digit...
  10. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

They would have at least one more sale, me. About a month ago I was having my car serviced, and a customer test drove a 981 Spyder. The top was down when the customer arrived. The guy came back and...

    Re: 2019 A90 Toyota Supra

Don't think you'll see any 718 owners trading their cars for a Toyota. If Toyota wants to compete with Porsche, they should badge the car as a Lexus, and provide a Lexus quality interior.

Re: 2018 Leftover Inventory is huge.

I live in northern Md and there are five Porsche dealers near me, and there are no 2018 718s for sale. As a matter of fact there are just a few 2019 718s for sale. Now if you want a Cayenne or Macan,...

Re: 2018 Leftover Inventory is huge.

There are not 250 new 718s in Autotrader. When I went to the site, it showed all 718s for sale, new and used.
I'd say that you have a shot on a $15K discount off MSRP on a used 2018 718 with around...
  14. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

In your scenario I assume that the drivers of both cars are no more than 16 years old. I would assume that no 17 year would be that immature. ;)
  15. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

A few months ago while at my local Porsche parts shop, I saw a guy pay a hefty premium to get lightweight battery for his 991S. I believe it weighed about 25 lbs less than his OEM battery. The guy...
  16. Re: Have you noticed the 981 Cayman appreciating over the last year?

  17. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

991 GT3 owners don't care much about any other 991 models, much less a Boxster/Cayman, but that would change quickly if the GT3's engine would be offered in the GT4. Doubt that 991 owners will jump...
  18. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

  19. Re: 6 cylinder NA cars are for "touring" (unless they aren't)

Your SA told you that a 2020 GT4 / Spyder will have a detuned GT3 engine? If so what would the price point of a GT4 be? A NA 450 HP GT4 would certainly be priced higher than a 991S. My guess would be...

Re: Replacing the battery - How to ?

You should be in 13 - 13.5 range. My battery is six years old and that's my charging rate, but I do use a CTEK charger. The only time I approach the 14.5 range is when I'm in sport mode.
