  1. Which under 100k sports car are you looking forward to?

    Automotive Off Topic
    A six cylinder 718S... :) Cheers,
  2. 718 S test drive - didn't expect this!

    718 Chat
...Quite in line with my (published) "findings/Planet9 review" after "two days / 500-600Km" in 11th-12th May 2016 with a 718BS, which makes me wonder if the GT4 or Spyder isn't the option that «Porsche» needs to offer if they wants old NA F6 customers to stay - or exchange car - within the...
  3. "The 718 Is A Housewife's Car." So Says Sport Auto Magazine

    718 Chat
Re: "The 718 Is A Housewife's Car." So Says Sport Auto Magazine Yes, sometimes a photo is worth a thousand words! :hilarious: ...But I still can find "space" for my 2013BS (NA Flat Six), nonetheless! :) Cheers,
  4. How long can I take a PDK?

    981 Chat
Yes, exactly what I meant, but I'm not so sure it works in «Sport Mode» - I got the idea that "Rev Matching" is enabled in both «Sport» and «Sport Plus» modes... Anyone care to confirm for the 981 (and 718), please? I'm also not sure that "PSM Off" disables "Rev Matching» - Again, much...
  5. 718 S test drive - didn't expect this!

    718 Chat
Expecting a sports car engine to deliver at 2000-3000 RPM when you floor the gas pedal - either NA or Turbo - is utterly nonsense, to be polite, (turbo) lag included or not included... :( As I said - at least with the 718BS I test/drove for almost "two days / 500-600Km" in 11th-12th May 2016 -...
  6. Things you hate or dislike about your 981

981 Cayman and Boxster Problems and Complaints
I fully agree with you. ...But the new 718S is bloody fast, I guarantee you that! Cheers,
  7. Things you hate or dislike about your 981

981 Cayman and Boxster Problems and Complaints
Yes - Seats is a personal taste/choice and unfortunately still (very) size dependable! I have the "14 ways electrical" - didn't felt comfortable in the 18 ones - but every time I try the normal/standard version I have the feeling they even fit my size better... My advice is you should really...
  8. Worst 718 Review?

    718 Chat
Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read «Rule No.1» - At the end don't forget to multiply [Units Sold by Profit per Unit] - Just saying... :) Not my opinion - A brand is always considered/respected by their "top /state of the art" creations, not their "lesser/ordinary" achievements -...
  9. Worst 718 Review?

    718 Chat
Re: The Worst Review of any Porsche I've read The 1st Boxster Generation sold 125000 cars... The 2nd Boxster Generation sold 145000 cars... The 3rd Boxster Generation sold 85000 cars... I don't think any car manufacturer - Porsche included - would forget and give up those sales numbers... :)...
  10. The 718 elephant in the room...

    718 Chat
It's even funnier than that - It only happens in the less powerful version, not the "S"! :hilarious: Cheers,
  11. Spyder oil question

    981 Boxster Spyder Chat
It's perfectly normal in the first 1000-3000Km; my car, for instance, consumed about 1 liter in the first 2000Km break-in period. After that it's less than 60ml per 1000Km, and believe me, it's driven quite hard these days! ;) One thing is very important, though, never, ever overfill the oil...
  12. Spyder oil question

    981 Boxster Spyder Chat
Don't track or curve/drive fast with that red light on - You may have an unpleasant surprise... So the PCM gives you 4 oil levels/marks before the red light (and an overfill indication, again very important) just for fun?! It's your car (and your money), what can I say? :) Cheers,
  13. Break in questions

    981 Chat
I always make a (progressive) break in of about 3000 Km to all my new cars, and the BS2014 was no exception; I never had a car that consumed oil as a normal consumption rule, in 40 years of driving / owning cars! ...And once more, the fact is that my BS shows the same oil level after 7500Km...
  14. Spyder oil question

    981 Boxster Spyder Chat
Which is a very bad habit/procedure, as the oil already reached is minimum quantity allowance... Reading the manuals is always the right thing to do... And in this particular case, you learn a lot about your car, too! :hilarious: From factory all «Porsches» come with «Mobil 1 0W-40» in...
  15. I introduce myslef and my, new to me, Boxster GTS

    981 Chat
Congratulations - for the BGTS, number plate and living close to Nurburgring where you can give freedom to all those horses - What a nice combination! ;) ...And «Welcome to the Club»! All the best, Pedro
  16. Oil change interval while tracking?

    981 Cayman and Boxster Competition
For me it's all about «Porsche» oil recommendations - as posted before - and the fact is «Mobil 1» in their «0W-40», «5W-40» and «5W-50» variants are the only ones that are mentioned in the car manual, at least here in Europe; I also am aware of all oils "Approved by Porsche", but nevertheless...
  17. Oil change interval while tracking?

    981 Cayman and Boxster Competition
...I'm afraid, it's simply because «0W 40» is a "generic temperature oil", which mean it's suitable for temperatures ranging from -25 to +25 Celsius Degrees, i.e., appropriate to almost all "world climate temperatures"... ;) Sorry to disagree - but with or without carbon footprints and...
  18. Adjusting MPG display

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
The calculation is based on your last or actual trip, depending exclusively on the time the car was "stopped with ignition off"; I don't remember now exactly how much time has to pass before the PCM considers a new trip/new calculation, but a normal benzine refuel time will not start a new one...
  19. How much can you fit in a 718?

    718 Chat
Of course, with two Porsches and that smile and "chassis" who is going to resist?! :) Nevermind, no time to forums when testing "models" like that, I'll bet... ;) All the best,
  20. Bad to Downshift to 1st?

    981 Chat
...And another (souverain) occasion - and reason - for using "Heel&Toe" in MT, outside «Sport Modes» only, I'm afraid! Cheers,
