  1. Clutch ping

    718 Chat
My 2018 CS manual transmission makes a ping sound when depressing the clutch. There is no sound when the clutch is released. The sound appears to come from below the pedal like a spring is rubbing. The sound is louder when the ambient temperature is colder. I took it to the dealer and they said...
  2. Springy 'twang' noise when I depress the Clutch pedal - Normal?

    718 Chat
Hi, My 718 is at 4000 miles and I've noticed this before, but it seems more prevalent now. Perhaps because temperatures are dropping. When I depress the clutch (to start the engine) I can hear a spring 'twang' type noise from the pedal area. It could simply be the return spring on the pedal...
  3. Knocking sound from transmission area.

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
I have a 2007 Cayman S with about 46,000 miles on it. This evening it developed a very strange knocking sound. I jacked the car up and it appears to be coming from the transmission area. It goes away when I depress the clutch. If I put it in gear and let the rear tires spin while they are...

    987 Cayman and Boxster Chat
Sorry, for the repost from other forums. I am kind of in a pinch and need answers quickly. I am looking at a 2006 Boxster base with 106K miles. The car is in good overall condition, but I think the maintenance may not have been kept up as it should. The car is three owners, first traded in at...

  6. Off throttle Crackles and Pops Sport vs. Sport +

    981 Chat
I noticed that in Sport mode, when I am upshifting, the Sport exhaust does the normal crackles and pops while the clutch is in and I'm shifting up. In sport plus, I don't hear that symphony in the time it takes to change gears with the clutch in. What's the reason for that?

  10. I think I hate my clutch?

    987 Cayman and Boxster Modifications
I've had my 987.1 Cayman S for a few weeks now. It's got 45,000 miles on it. I love the car, but I think I hate the clutch? It doesn't slip once it's in gear, but getting the car moving from a start is inconsistent and ruining my driving experience. I've tried disabling the clutch delay...
