From the manual: "Under certain circumstances it is not possible to display the oil level. The reasons for this include: Engine is cold Vehicle has been stopped after full-load operation at high engine speeds Engine oil temperature is too high Open rear luggage compartment lid. A message about...

I leave the Vehicle Information screen on in the instrument panel by default, mostly to observe the oil temperature (I drive more gently until that one gets out of the blue zone). I chose water/coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure and voltage as the four selections, which mostly...

I was on a road trip recently cruising at around 80 when I noticed the oil temp at 228 then soon up to 232. Normally it's in the 200 to 210 range so I was getting more than concerned that there was maybe an oil cooler failure. I then noticed that I had not put the car in Sport Plus like I always...

The past few days I've noticed my coolant temperature gauge is running about 20 degrees higher than normal. It has usually run 205-210, but lately is showing 226 degrees. I checked the level and added almost a quarter of coolant mix, but it had no effect on the temperature.

I thought this was a simple question until I started reading. Now I'm confused. As the ambient temperature changes (summer/winter) do I keep the tyres at the recommended pressure, or adjust the pressure so that it would be at the recommended pressure at the standard temperature.? (Assume the...

When driving on the highway my 2016 Cayman S oil temperature stays between 223 and 225 degrees. This is with the outside air temperature in the forties. Is this normal operating temperature? Only 1,000 miles on the car.
  7. Porsche Tires & Wheels
Tires, forget about the car model, would always say 32/32 cold (or whatever the pressures should be). The Porsche manuals say, for example, 32/36 cold at 68F. I understand this doesn't mean hot pressures after the tires heat up, which can be 5 psi higher. Some of these tires are so sensitive...

Hi all, I've been observing the coolant temps on my manual 987.2 with an OBD reader lately, and it has me wondering what the normal temperature range is for non-race driving. Mine seems to run between 186 and 206 deg F, depending on speed and ambient temp. It will run indefinitely at 186 if...

This poll is open to anyone who owns a WATER cooled Porsche, any model, any year. Please do not respond for air cooled Porsches. Do you actively monitor any of these gauges? Actively means every time you drive, as you drive (e.g., you know the charging volts or oil pressure “most” of time...

I've noticed that my water temperature gauge will show the rise of the temperature until it gets to 194 Deg. F and then it stays there. On cool down the temperature will fall when it gets below 194. My 13 BB is still under warrantee until April 17 but the nearest dealer is 2 hours away. If...

As everybody know sport mode lowers the coolant temperature and by doing so also lowering the oil temperature. In my case normal mode gives me about ~105C/221F and sport ~95C/203F (when more or less just cruising along). Quite a big difference and what i am trying to figure out is what is more...

I've read most, if not all. of the temperature postings but still have a question. I have a 2011 Cayman S PDK with the center radiator and screens to protect the radiators. I think being it's a Gen 2 car it has some type of transmission cooler. I do about 24 DE events a year and run using...

Well, I am just starting to get my feet wet in driving on the track and am curious for any comment or feedback on how to go faster on the track. Here is a link to our last outing at Putnam Park. The car is a stock 06 cayman s with Pagid yellow/black pads and RE11 tires that are brand new. Best...

after my second service (2 year) i have seen the following message come up twice when i start my 981: " refill coolant Observe engine temperature" . The message is in yellow on the display but goes away after a minute? Is this normal ? does anybody see it occasionally? There doesn't seem to be...

What is the normal water temperature supposed to be for a 2015 Boxster S?......manual transmission, fully warmed up, 91 degree ambient temperature, gentle driving from store to home? My temperature gauge read 220 degrees.....which seems a bit warm, This was the first time I have seen it this...

1st Post I was driving into work and while at a stop light I heard a beep, looked down and saw Temp Incorrect displayed, and the gauge reading 100, with the overtemp light on..Drove about 400 ft and gauge returned to 175... Have any ideas? Guessing a short or open in the wiring or sensor...
