I have a 2007 Cayman S with 7K miles on it. In recent months I have occasionally noticed a very brief screech, or whine from the rear when I make a turn (L or R) from a standing start. It doesn’t happen when the car is going straight from a standing start. Because of the cooler weather, the car has been idle for about 3-4 weeks but last week I took it out for a couple of days (Air temps were low – don’t know if this is a factor). Now the screech is more frequent and a bit more obvious. At first I thought it might be a limited slip problem and that the tranny oil was still viscous, but the car does not have a limited slip. I presume the tranny runs in its own oil but I’m not certain. I suppose it could be the clutch but it doesn’t happen when the car is going straight.

Anybody have experience with this problem?
