Hi All
Long time
Just FYI - I have a 2008 Cayman with 170,000 original miles.
I drive the pants off of this car. The engine is like new.
It was a goal for me to see how long I could drive a Porsche.
Only mod is sport suspension which make awesome -->nirvana !!!
(pardon my spelling error in title :)

Water pump @ 167,000 ( no really )
On my 3rd clutch/flywheel ( I always change flywheel )
Shifter cables
Many tires ( I don't drive on marginal tread ) - running 18's (best balance)
Summer PS2's
Winter Sotozeros
ONLY
Hundreds of gallons of Moblie1 0-40W
Thousands of gallons of Mobile 93, or Shell 93
Brakes and calipers.....hmmmm....maybe 5
(2) sound system AMP's
AOS
Belts x3
Plugs x4
Coils x 2

I will post some pics - yes I have invested but this car is a rock
Must have been a fine week in Finland

Great news. Why so many clutches? Any RMS or IMS seals replaced?

Do you have Base or S model? These cars are built for driving! I drive mine year round too. Mine was assembled in Finland as well, and its rock solid.

Nice to hear folks

* No IMS/RMS issues (TG)
* prematurely / unintentionally torched a clutch when shift cable snapped
Could only get into 4th and rev'd the hell out of it to limp home
(fried the clutch in doing ). Been driving stick for 35 years
* It's base and if you really learn how to drive it, plenty of power
Rev's are largely 38 - 58 most of time
* The folks at my Porsche dealer love it - three of the techs want to buy it
* No way - this will be an airloom ( saving up for for GT4 :)

Last note ( funny, maybe not smart) - drove it up to Loon Mountain NH
in a NE blizzard just to see how I could do. My wife behind me in an Escalade
calling me a dumb (#ss)....car made it !

No Rust
Some "decay" (expected) both front lower wheel-well areas
I clean and touch up to prevent rust. I believe I can get Porsche
to fix under "corrosion" unlimited years / 200K miles

I drive it through the touchless powerwash w/undercarriage often
in winter when I take it out (at least weekly)

Best.....
