Does anyone have some good sound clips of the 981 S model with Capristo valved exhaust only, no headers.

I have searched but all of them are taken in bad situations or with aftermarket headers. Would not mind hearing comparisons to the PSE factory exhaust to see which is louder and tone difference.

Any known drone with the Capristo muffler only, no headers?

Any input would be helpful thanks

No sound clips and on a 987.1 CS with Capristo headers but I can say no drone with valves closed. With valves open I've found slight transient drone but I've never been able to set on the rpm precisely long enough to let it build, if it would, to see if it became annoying. Can't comment on the PSE but I found it much better sounding than stock closed despite similar sound levels. Love the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the system.

What is really surprising to me at least was how mellow and livable the sound was valves open driving around at least in the cabin. Not light footing it, just normal driving. Of course if you put your foot down its another story...

Might want to check with Nick at Nick's Forza Ferrari or Martin at Capristo to see how similar the mufflers are from 987 to 981. If the same 987 experience should be a guide.

Same here... I am contemplating a PSE replacement... need more volume. I keep thinking about Capristo since it is valved...I'm also mulling Tubi just because it looks like it sounds really good...but is not valved...wife might hate me...

Borla's 981 exhaust system sounds nice and is pretty loud/aggressive (judging by their videos, at least). Might be worth consideration.

Armytrix Valvetronic - no drone with valves open or closed.
but isn't it super super loud. wouldn't that be considered drone?

I would like to hear from AWE consumers about how they like their exhaust

Thanks. K-man I will look that up but I think the 981 exhaust is different and has a different valve control system computer than your has.

After doing lots of thinking, video watching/listening etc... i think i am going to go with Capristo... if i can get a clear answer as to install fitment.

1. Their website says Boxster but i assume it would fit a Cayman
2. I've read on their website even it say it will "partially fit OEM headers". What does that mean? Will it fit or not?
3. i have PSE...what will my PSE button do? will it still change programming for more pops/crackles so i will have to click that AND the remote for Capristo?

I'm mostly concerned about fitment as I have heard there may be issues...?

The best answers to this would come from Capristo or a dealer. Got mine through Nick at Nick's Forzaferrari. Is/was a site sponsor.

Unless something changed the PSE button won't do anything. You always could tie the switch into the Capristo remote. Not sure what hoops would have to be jumped to do that.

On a 987 at least fitment was straight forward. Did it on ramps over a couple weeks. Obviously part time. Since I have Capristo headers no idea what partial would mean.

Are you doing it yourself? If so the install articles should help with some of it. I've found their quality first rate.
