When we first picked up our Cayman, we wanted to add the air-intake side scoops like the GT4. We just really like the look. After some research, the only scoops that were available are either OE GT4 style or replicas.

The installation needed to be secured with screws and tapes to ensure safety. We didn't want to drill into the panels and thought with what we're capable of designing parts, there's got to be a better way.

So after some tinkering, designing, prototyping, and test fitting for 6 months, this is what we have for the final production pieces. We also designed the debris screen to be part of it as well.

Our design is a bit longer and 10% wider than the GT4 scoops. They're one piece with the screens and they just clip into the OE inlet opening. No screws are needed.

Thoughts?

Nicely done. Not sure how they’d look on my white car (feel free to send me a pair if you would like a “test fit” and pictures ).
Hi Shawn,

We have ABS versions that you can paint match if you don't prefer carbon..

"Test fitting" has been "done" in the above video as you can see but if you'd like to be "sponsored" feel free to dm us...

I'd have to see them actually installed, but they look promising.

Especially like the built in screens.
Thanks.. if you visit our social platforms (FB or IG links in signature), you'll see the whole journey of us building these scoops.

We have these production scoops installed on our car.. More pictures?

This is the back side of the scoops. It's a two-piece design. Imagine we built a trim that clicks into the OE inlet openings and bonded that with the scoops that you see on the outside into one product.

What you see in the video is the actual installation of the finished product.. Yes, it literally take a couple of mins to install. :giggle:

The carbon fiber scoops sort of remind me of another German mid-engine car that uses large CF scoops.. nice look. When will the 987 ones be available?
I’d be interested in a set for my 987.

Is there a difference between the 987.1 vs 987.2 inlet opening and body lines?

Thanks,

Looks like they fit very well. Also, that is an area that gets blasted with rocks and mine is chipped up pretty bad. I'm thinking these would cover that up.
If you go to our website and read some customer reviews (you can dm them directly inside our private FB group), most will say fitment! This is something that we're proud of.

Some of the 981 ducktail customers even said ours ducktail fit better than the OE spoiler that came with the car.

The pre-order has started a few weeks ago and many of our ducktail customers are ordering a set.

Thanks for your kind words.

If these would stay on for track duty(DE's), i'd be interested.
They're clipped into the OE location. Using the same shape/tabs as the OE trim piece. These also have a large surface that can be bonded to the body panel via 3M tape if desired.

The GT4 rep scoops don't have enough surfaces to stick to the body panel that's why many failed at high speed.

If you lay a strip or two of 3M automotive body molding tapes, and with the scoop clip into the OE location, they'll be very difficult to come off without prying on them. Please see the picture where the tape locations we suggested, are indicated by the orange arrows.

Hope this helps,

** Shipping Update **
Thank you for all the pre-orders.They are getting ready to be shipped next week.

They're a handful of these clip-in scoops left for the first batch!
After removing the OE trim piece, they clip into the existing intake inlet.

I’m hoping you decide to make them for the 987.2’s. I really like how they are held in place unlike the ones that tell you to use 3m double sided tape and silicone t hold them in place. That is total bullshit considering how much they want for them.
