One thing to do if your still looking for suggestions is to have the battery tested to see if it is putting out enough amps. I had a battery with an internal short that mimicked some of the problems you are listing but still showed good voltage.

Does any happen to know what this connector goes to, it is routed under the passenger side intake. I’m thinking it goes into part 2.

Starter was replaced. Sadly it was not the fix to my problem. It sucks to not have my car but hopefully this next week I can have it towed to my indie( Porsche performance in San Diego). Thanks all for replying I will up date this post with what the indie say is the problem. With these cars getting to a significant age point and some what attainable more people will get cars and have problems. Happy new year to all enjoy your P-cars!!!

It is unfortunate that you've not been able to resolve your problem. Wishing you better luck with the indie and a better new year!

I had very similar symptoms after I flashed the car (987.1) with a Vivid tune — car started fine after a battery disconnect but then it wouldn’t crank and would show the “depress clutch” and the same lights as you. I replaced the battery and clutch switch but no joy. I finally took it to my indy shop, who diagnosed a bad DME. They sent it out to a place to get it rebuilt, and that solved the problem. I’m going off of memory here, so if it would be helpful, I can dig up the receipt from the job to see if there are any other useful details.

That info would be greatly appreciated if you can find it. I will be talk to my Indy here soon. Any info to help the diagnosis is a +.was it the dme relay or was it the dme/ecu circuit that was found faulty.

Update:
Sadly still no fix after hours of troubleshoot, my Indy and I have come to the conclusions that it is ecu/ dme related. I am going to be reaching out to ecu doctors to see about getting the system tested. Hopefully it is not too much of a repair after this.
happy new year to all !!

sorry to hear about your issues...

Do you have access to a specialist who may have other porsches and can assist better with some of this type of troubleshooting?

hope you get it resolved soon....

Yes after getting some time I was able to drop the car off at a specialist.
the first diagnoses was showing multiple dme connection failures. Me traced it back to what we thought was a faulty ground/wiring in the driver door (other fault codes led us here).
we checked all wires and found the fault in the door a couple cracked wires. After reevaluating we found this not to be the cause of main issue.
the second diagnoses was a faulty dme even though no fault code showed up in the dme it self.
before sending the dme , immobilized and ignition off we decided to load up a updated oem tune file directly from Porsche. When trying to do this the first time the car had the same issue but the codes showed the oem flash did not write over all aftermarket software. So we flashed it again with the same results. The fact that it was not allowing the oem flash to fully write over the current software led us to believe this was the problem. As a last ditch effort we tired one more time, the third time the oem flash went perfect. After flashing the car and checking all communication to the dme it was all good. Car has been starting perfectly for almost a week. I will do a more through write up once I have the time to sit down and look over all the codes and paperwork.
