I can't stop cleaning the darn Cayman S.
The 19" sport design wheels... a real bear to clean...
But I can't leave the house without cleaning them.
Washed the car last week after work...
at a do it yourself wash...
just for the 50 mile drive home.
Cleaned the wheels again when I got it in the garage.
Cleaning the inside of the car is the easy part.
My Ftrunk looks like I robbed a deatiler's shop.
I walked into the house after a small cleaning session,
and the wife asked if my "girlfriend" was OK.
If I'm not cleaning...
I'm on the computer...
in the forums, or on ebay motors looking at accessories and merchandise.
I doubt I'm alone in this.

You're not alone, sounds just like my routine.

Thankfully I can only drive the car once a week since I work in the city and take public transport!

Although I only clean my car once a week, it doesn't get driven much, however it's super clean. Admittedly I have standard Gen II 18" wheels which aren't too bad to clean. My interior looks better than it did in the showroom. It's beyond clean & tidy.

Your are not alone is your cleaning.
My wife says the exact same thing to me after we take the Cayman out for a drive.

I always say a clean car is a happy car.

For some reason my car care habits did not transfer to my children.
I always feel like I need a chemical suite to get into the cars they drive.

Keep up the cleaning

I think a black car would be the end of you...
AMEN to that. VIrginia pine pollen is at record levels. So I wash it, hurry it into the garage and shut the door. Wipe it down, especially those places that get water spots and then cover the Black Pearl. The lobster tool wheels (Carrera S 19 inchers) have lots of nooks and crannies to collect brake dust.

THen when I drive it it has a patina of yellow the moment I stop. AARRGH !!! Ed

To kdsCayman..
A chemical suit?
LOL
My kids are just approaching the car driving stage.
The Cayman is off limits...
The wife's car... ick !
I've posted this before...
It looks like her purse exploded in her car!

To Owen Birch...
Yes... a black Cayman would be the end of me.
My truck is black, but it's a truck, and they are suppose to be dirty.
It's the reason I didn't get a black Cayman.

When was the last time you saw a dirty Porsche?

Later... I gotta go clean my wheels...

I even take a sponge and clean the inside of my wheels. I've got the 19" Carrera Sport wheels, so the spokes are open enough that I can get my hands inside. I think it makes the car look so much better when I clean it.

I just got my 2007 Porsche Boxster S. Midnight Blue, black leather interior.

Yup. Clean it before I take it out of the drive. It only has 17K on it. Looks like the day it came in from the factory. It drives my wife nuts (pun intended).

When's the last time I saw a dirty Porsche? I've never seen a dirty Porsche. :)

:taunt: Can I brag that I used to clean my rims every week, but now I almost never need to clean my rims anymore because I have PCCB?

I wash mine about every two to three weeks or so, drive it every day.

How can one truly appreciate the beauty of a clean car if it's never dirty? It's also neat to see my car develop a natural dark gray "Foose Fade" from the accumulating grime.

But you're right, I haven't seen any other dirty Porsche's in Dallas. Maybe I win the title!

I am getting rid of the Sport Designs, just too much of a pain in d'a a.. to clean and still look dirty, you always miss one side of one spoke. Best product is Rejex though. Take the time and take the wheels off and do them once every 4-6 months with it. makes cleaningt hem a lot easier. Mine soon will need a session wiht the paint shop though. It is an '06 and the stone chips starting to show every where.

This thread is a relief to me. It's good to see I'm not alone in the madness. I've only had the car a week and half, and it's been polished every day with a microfiber towel, wheels cleaned every other day, completely washed twice, and waxed once. I bought it used, so it has some nicks in it here and there, so at least I don't have to worry about bein' the one to mess up the paint first. I told the Mrs that in a few years, it might need a fresh coat of paint. Man, I love this car!

Extanker,
Your avatar looks very familiar, just the car has changed. Do I know you from the Corvette forum? Or maybe the CTS-V forum? It's cool to think that others may have had the same transitions up the car evolutionary ladder as I have.
