purchase price on a 2006 cayman S with 11k miles

found a private sale of a 2006 cayman s, 11,700 miles..base price was 59,500 plus options that put the car at 71,200...

seller is asking $37,500 bottome line....he did a build your own...has no problem with taing it to the dealer he purchased it from for an inspection...only had a service at 7500 miles for $350...seems to be in perfect condition...

any thoughts anyone ?...i'm a first time buyer...

As mentioned in the other thread, read the FAQ a couple of times. You may also want to go to the files section and download the 2006 owners manual to get to know the car.

Can't say for certain without an options list but assuming the $71K MSRP is from standard things like PASM, PCM, etc. and not from a custom two-tone pink/neon green full leather interior, the price sounds descent. The car is going to be off warranty in less than a year so if that is cool with you, read up, and then go drive it.

Couldn't really say anything about the price, but thing to do there is to check out Autotrader or alike and see what the rest of the market is doing.

A 2006 could possibly be very close to out of warranty already if it was an early 06, so an inspection would probably be a good idea.

Such low miles on a 3-4 year old car can mean a couple of things, one it has not been a daily driver, that can either be awesome (only taken out on sunny weekends), or it can also mean that it was a track car. Ask the seller what his driving habits were, check the condition of tires and brakes.

Good luck
