Heh gang,

As winter gets ready to settle in to upstate NY, I hope to pay down some expenses over the next few months so that when Spring finally makes it here, I might be able to add some after-market lighting options to the Cayman S, 2014 I recently bought. (It'll be garaged with a battery maintainer-thingy. :))

I have no tools to speak of, nor would I consider doing any kind of electric shenanigans with my car, so anything I add will be professtionally installed. Recently had a local place put the 9500ci system in the car https://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ci/ and no complaints as to how they did the install or their pricing.

So, does anyone have any ideas as to lighting add-ons that might make the car even sweeter? Or is this a bad idea in general? Its white w/ black wheels.

I saw somewhere LED lights for what looked like the wheel wells, I was thinking red lighting picking up the calipers may look sharp. Note that I'm more interested in appearance over functionality at this point.

Anyone who has suggestions as to what to add -- or not add -- would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

neon lighting and accent lighting you're talking about tends to be a bit tacky at this price point of vehicle, but thats up to you to decide what exactly you want. Most lighting options you'll see people doing is stuff like adding the type of lighting that's on the new GTS model, or even the GT4 model we'll see later. Stock lightning options tend to be the most "Tasteful"

Yeah I was kinda worried about that maybe being tacky but I'm gonna look and see if I can find a pic with them. I thought it looked, well, a step above fuzzy dice or a hula hoop gal.
;-)

Anyway, I saw somewhere where the Cayman S is illuminated where the doors open? Just regular white light, the words illuminate. Has anyone seen that or is that gauche too?

Where's the best place to find stock lighting options --- the Porsche website or is there another online place that's a good place to look?

Thanks again to all contributors.....

The illuminated kick plates would look nice--that is a factory accessory. I would replace all of the interior incandescent bulbs with LEDs. That makes a big difference to the interior lighting. There is a thread that I posted to a couple of weeks ago.

Skip the wheel well lighting. A '69 Impala maybe, not a 981S.:)

most of these stock options can be found on suncoastpats.com, or you can order them through the dealer if pricing isn't too big of a deal

socalsharky,

Thanks so much for that link. There is no question that those footwell LEDs look fantastic; also, I agree with you that the red LEDs, playing off of the red calipers, are a great effect.

Thanks again!
