Hello !
I have my car in a garage under the winter period and i have bought a
Cetek battery maintainer, stupid question but does it make any difference
if i charge the battery directly or plug it in the ciggarette lighter ?
It seems that the Porsche maintainer have the ciggarete plug to charge?
Any opinions on that ?

It should not matter on the Porsche if it's directly on the battery or in the lighter socket.

With other cars, sometimes the cig lighter is not powered when the engine is turned off. If that's the case, then you would need to connect directly to the battery.

I use it during the winter if I won't be driving for a week or so due to salt and snow on the roads. I use the Porsche part with the cig. lighter and it works just great.

Yes, there is a difference. Using the cigarette lighter plug is a lot safer, and the preferred method. There is little or no difference in charging time or effectiveness at the low current levels of a battery maintainer.

Yup! The farther away from explosive gases the better.

Also unscrew the battery caps with a large blade screw driver to check water level and fill with distilled water if needed.
