Battery tender question

I am about to put my 2008 RS 60 Boxster S away for the summer. Yes, that sounds silly, but we're in Florida for the winter and head north for the summer. I've used battery tenders in the past, but I'm thinking about simply disconnecting the negative cable for 4 months. Any thoughts? Is this going to be an issue? On my older 50's and 60's cars I simply disconnect the negative cable but those cars have no electronics to worry about. What do you recommend?

Should be fine as long as you are absolutely sure someone won't close and latch the hood
If you plan on locking the cabin doors rbefore disconnecting the battery, you might set off the alarm when you recommision the car. Just be prepared to quickly open the door and insert the key.
