Hi all:
After reading many posts on the subject from various sources, which method do you use to tie down a Porsche to a trailer and why? From my reading, these are the various methods that have been used:

(1) Through the wheels and straight to D-ring
(2) Installing RennLine frame mount brackets in front (cross front straps) and rear through the tires straight to D-ring
(3) Installing Fabspeed frame mount brackets front (cross front straps)and rear engine support brackets . Not sure if the rear mounts are to be used for tie down points per Porsche
(4) Use over-tire straps and straight to D-ring
(5) Use U-Haul trailer and their strap-over-front tire method

I am considering the U-haul trailer as a low cost method for now and looking to see if there are any bad experiences you can share. Pictures of your set-up on a 981 would be very helpful.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks Bill for responding. I decided to purchase a Pro Pack from Mac's Custom Tie Downs. I chose the through-the-wheels bridle and 6' straps. I will use the U Haul to tow to Roebling Road next week for my HPDE. I may buy a trailer for future events.
