I know that red is classic. I have a black metallic with silver wheels and was going to go with silver. However, that blends-in with the wheels. I don't like the red. What about a medium gray metallic that will provide some contrast ?
Any opinions ?

All base Boxsters (and 911s and Caymans) have black...S variants have red...and PCCBs are yellow. Changing the color is as close to sacrilege as it gets in Porsche-land. I'd leave 'em black. Of course, you are free to do whatever you want with your car.

Yep, left my base Cayman calipers factory black when I repainted them. I was probably less influenced by potential sacrilege than by just liking black better than a flashy color.

I have a black metallic car with black wheels. My brakes have faded from black to a grey tone. I've been thinking about painting them lime green like the ones on the hybrids to add some contrast. Something like this

interesting cause I get pos + comments on my calipers all the time now that they are YELLOW.

Alas, the standard boxster calipers are the small ones....my auto specialist recommended keeping them black...."showing" them would not be in good taste.

Not that it wouldn't be in good taste...it's just not as visually appealing. F Type Jags have really puny looking calipers in the rear and massive calipers up front, all painted same color. As mentioned earlier, I left my base Cayman calipers black when I repainted them (don't really get the desire to have "flashy" calipers), and have to agree that photo looks hilarious.
