Yes! Following the advice of others, I went to Napa and purchased some Sil-Glyde. A little goes a LONG way so one tube will last a lifetime. Just run a THIN coating on the rubber gasket. When I have to remove and then replace the cover I put down some painter's tape lightly above the seal so the silicone doesn't get all over the interior plastic. Anyway, squeaks disappeared.
