So living in Monterey, California has many perks, but a mixed blessing is the insanity that descends on us each year that is “Car Week”.
This year, I found myself as a chauffeur for the Bentley group for a couple days driving a Bentayga (related to a Cayenne) and also a Flying Spur (related to the Panamera).
The F.Spur was definitely a nice car - very smooth ride, a very comfortable place to be, yet with still a ton of power and the surprising agility offered by 4 wheel steering.
However, the ramifications of the design intent (big, luxury, comfort, power everything) definitely gave a very isolated and heavy feeling from driving.
Getting back in the cayman definitely was much more raw (e.g. unrefined) and mechanical. It also made me appreciate just driving a small nimble car, although it was definitely a lot bumpier on the same roads.
Anyway - just an interesting (to me) observation comparing an older $30k sports car with a (at least) $300k luxury performance car.
I did like the ventilated seats, though
