No, you don't need a special bottle. All you need is a couple of feet of plastic tubing and any old bottle or can. Nonetheless, why not get the catch bottle? It makes the job neater and more convenient, and the price isn't very high.
The preferred sequence for bleeding is left rear, right rear, left front, right front. (Left & right viewed as from facing the front of the car.) The theory is you want to bleed from the farthest position from the master cylinder first.
Don;t forget to bleed the clutch line too.
