Hi Everyone - I've searched with no success...

I've removed the door panel, but can't figure out how to remove the little gear that keeps the lid (armrest) smooth while opening and closing. Can anyone tell me how to remove this? Otherwise, the gear might break while sliding the lid's support structures (armrest) through the gaps.

Thanks so much!

I went to the dealer, and the techs I spoke with haven't had experience in this area yet. The part I'm referring to is called the "Lid Damper". They did think the parts was melt-welded on though. Not sure if this needs to be removed or not....

Update: There's a plastic piece that helps secure the Lid Damper. once that's removed, the lid damper can be removed. As I broke one of the Lid Dampers, I re-assembled without the Damper. The only difference, which I actually prefer, is when you now open and close the lid, the movement is more swift, not delayed. It stays open or closed due to a spring.
