Not hard to remove, but I'm not sure why someone would want to, you cannot swap in a Euro ECU anymore into a US car, Porsche has nixed that past trick. The ECU is programmable via OBDII port so unless you are creating a custom piggyback solution I don't see why you'd want to take it out unless it went bad or something...

While not related to ECU removal, I do hae a ECU programming question. I do not have Sport Chron or PASM. Does anyone know if the ECU can be programmed for the "sport mode" supressed PSM threshold? I would hate to turn off PSM altogether on the track but it does kick in a bit too soon for me and a delay PSM turn on, like in sport mode, would be most useful. I have a GAIC ECU flash but GAIC said that they don't mess with the PSM threshold in their programming.

Hi K-Man S,
maybe you could help me.
I have an issue with the coolant temperature wires that connect to C17 and C22 (info received in another post) but I have no idea which of the 2 connectors is it linked to and what pin numbering scheme is used.
do you know where to find an electrical diagram of the ecu?

Can I disconnect the connectors without removing the module?

i cross my fingers and hope this is a wire broken and not an ecu issue (I guess I would have more than 1 error in that case)
I checked but have no voltage at the sensor connector

thanks for any help available

So exactly where is the ecu located?

TJF - I'm actually REALLY impressed - 16 years have gone by since this question was asked.. and most of the people in this thread are long gone from this forum. K-Man S replied 16 years ago, but he hasn't been on the forum in over a year, chances are he won't see your post.

Give us a hint to help us help you - what year and engine and model is the vehicle you're asking about?
