Has anyone here tried one of these yet? Since my twin little suction cups tend to lose their grip over time, especially in the summer sun, I thought I might try one of these to see how it works but I was wondering if anyone else here has already done so?

Our new heavy duty mount moves your detector closer to you and provides a single quick release windshield suction cup. Works with all current ESCORT radar detectors.

Click here to check out the all new Single Cup Windshield Mounts or Call 1-866-709-8746

BTW if you call them and order, let them know you saw this item on our website so we get credit for the sale. :)

My Garmin GPS uses a similar style mount and it is still strong as hell after two years of use shuffling between two cars.

Ken,
I also have already received two. As PistolPete said I have used this type of mount before with a Garmin and a video camera with much more dependable results than the old twin suction cup mounts.

That's good to know, how do you like it? Pros/cons
All pros...I have been using the same setup for when I travel (Garmin GPS) and never had a time of when it fell off the windshield...just purchased it for the Escort...used it for the first time on Saturday for a day long trip (over 250 miles)...stayed in place, and the GPS function worked perfectly...I recommend it very highly...

Do these wear out quickly? I have a similar version for my Garmin and it won't stick for 10 minutes!
Did you use the lever on the device after placing against the windshield to increase the concave shape of the cup?

+1...unless you use the lever...it will fall off immediately...

Don't forget a little spit as well. My only reservation about this new mount is that it's just plain big. Not sure how I could keep my detector near the roofline with this (or is the unit in the photo just angled badly?).
