For over a decade now, the Car Classic at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena has been a mainstay of Southern California car culture. It's the kind of event where you might see a Duesenberg alongside a Porsche 917 racer, a classic Ford Mustang fastback, a gullwinged Mercedes-Benz 300SL and a McLaren P1, all on the same lot.

Themed "Street to Screen," this year's Car Classic focused on movie cars. On hand were a trio of Batmobile cars, including those from the 1960s television series, 1995's Batman Forever and 1997's Batman & Robin. But that's not all: there was also a Honda S2000 from Fast & Furious 7, a contemporary Chevrolet Camaro SS from Transformers: Age of Extinction, a '67 Volkswagen-based Mystery Machine van from Scooby-Doo and a 1960 VW Beetle from Herbie Fully Loaded.

The college even offered tours of its facilities - including the design studios, 3D rapid prototyping equipment and galleries of some of the finer work performed by its students - along with drawing workshops and an exhibit of this year's LA Auto Show Design Challenge finalists.

In short, it was a must-see for Californian car fans, but if you didn't get a chance to swing by the design school's campus for the event this year, we've got a full gallery of photos shot by our own shutterbug extraordinaire Drew Phillips right here for your viewing pleasure.2014 Art Center Car Classic celebrates Street to Screen originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 27 Oct 2014 13:01:00 EST.
