I’m looking at buying my first Porsche: a 2001 Porsche Boxster. Other than the IMS bearing, is there anything in particular that I should be looking for when inspecting the car?

Also, I do maintenance and repair on our cars... oil changes to timing belts, suspension, exhaust etc. how friendly are these cars to work on?

Look for power steering leaks. Be sure you take the engine cover off and look in there for problems. Run a scanner for codes or history that may have been recently cleared for sale. Smoke o start up leads to AOS a regular problem area.
IMS, Power steering, AOS I've had them all.
They are not bad to work on once you get the cover off, everything else is from the bottom.
